Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) aims to be the leading provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa. CCBRT serves as a healthcare social enterprise and through development programmes in the community and for the most vulnerable. Committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities, including obstetric fistula repairs. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high-risk and emergency deliveries in the Dar es Salaam region and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.
CCBRT is currently seeking to fill the following positions:
- Health Volunteer - Medical Attendant (5 Posts)
- Reference: 2025-23
- The Role: This position is offered under CCBRT's health volunteer terms and conditions. The medical attendant will provide assistance to clinicians in their allocated area (OPD, IPD, or OTD). Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all working tools are in place and in good working condition.
- Directing patients and relatives accordingly.
- Assisting in the preparation of patients before they see a doctor or go to a consulting room/theatre.
- Communicating effectively with doctors and other staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Assisting in controlling patients' flow in the clinical area.
- Transporting patients, equipment, and supplies between units.
- Verifying and transporting specimens to the lab.
- Maintaining a clean, quiet, and comfortable environment for patients.
- The Candidate:
- Form 4 certificate plus one year of basic nursing training from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 1 year of working experience.
- Computer literacy.
- Good communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Must be flexible, able to multitask, pro-active, and eager to learn.

- Health Volunteer - Assistant Nursing Officer (5 Posts)

- The Role: This position is offered under CCBRT's health volunteer terms and conditions. The Assistant Nursing Officer will provide clinical nursing care in their allocated area (OPD, IPD, or OTD). Responsibilities include:
- Providing nursing care according to quality and safety regulations, while maintaining patient dignity.
- Ensuring necessary preparations are done before a patient sees a doctor or goes to consulting rooms/theatre.
- Assisting a doctor during patient examinations and/or surgeries.
- Translating information between Kiswahili and English for patients and doctors when there is a language barrier.
- Communicating sensitive information regarding a patient's medical condition and counselling patients.
- Performing clinical procedures, ensuring proper recordkeeping, and controlling patient flow.
- The Candidate:
- Diploma in general nursing and Midwifery.
- Must be registered and have a valid license from the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Good communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Must be flexible, able to multitask, pro-active, and eager to learn.

- Medical Records Officer (2 positions)

- The Role: The officer will be responsible for creating, updating, retrieving, and safeguarding patients' medical records in accordance with hospital policies and data protection laws. Key responsibilities include:
- Patient Registration.
- Filing, retrieving, and tracking patient records.
- Ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all health records.
- Supporting clinicians with timely access to patient files.
- Updating electronic and manual records systems.
- Preparing reports and summaries as required.
- Assisting with records archiving and disposal as per policy.
- The Candidate:
- Diploma in Health Records, Information Technology or equivalent.
- Registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable).
- Proficient in data entry and the use of hospital information systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience in electronic medical records is an added advantage.
- Experience in a hospital or health facility is an added advantage.
