NMB Bank Plc is one of the largest commercial banks in Tanzania, established in 1997 following the restructuring of the National Bank of Commerce. Licensed by the Bank of Tanzania, it operates a vast network of over 230 branches, hundreds of ATMs, and thousands of Wakala agents across mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar, serving more than 6 million customers. (34.9%), the Government of Tanzania (31.8%), and public shareholders through its listing on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange.
