JOB ADVERTISEMENT BY CONTRACT

The Executive Director of Mbeya District Council hereby announces its intention to hire Tanzanian citizens for employment under a contract for the following positions in the Mbeya District Council: Driver Grade II and Mechanical Technician Grade II.
1. DRIVER GRADE II (DEREVA DARAJA LA II)
1.1 QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
i. Must have successfully completed Form Four (IV).
ii. Must have a valid Driving License of Classes C, E, and must have worked in the driving field for a period of not less than one year.
iii. Must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any college recognized by the Government.
iv. Must have a Trade Test Grade II in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
1.2 DUTIES
i. Driving vehicles in a way that is safe and in good condition for all trips.
ii. Ensuring the vehicle is in good condition before and after a trip, and immediately reporting any faults to be repaired and maintained.
iii. Cleaning the vehicle and ensuring its mechanical integrity.
iv. Filling out trip information in the vehicle's "Log-book" for all trips.
v. Performing any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
1.3 SALARY FOR DRIVER GRADE II
The monthly salary is Tsh. 350,000/=
2. MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN GRADE II (FUNDI SANIFU MITAMBO DARAJA LA II)
2.1 QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
i. Must have a Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
ii. Must have an FTC in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
iii. Must have a Trade Test I and at least two or three Trade Tests in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
iv. Must have a Motor Vehicle Mechanics certificate from VETA or any college recognized by the Government.
v. Must be a citizen of Tanzania.
2.2 DUTIES
i. Performing minor maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including the Council's generators.
ii. Diagnosing faults in vehicles, including the Council's generators, based on job specifications.
iii. Preparing detailed reports on maintenance and repair work performed on vehicles, including generators.
iv. Performing all other duties as assigned by the Head of Department/Supervisor.
2.3 SALARY FOR MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN GRADE II
The monthly salary is Tsh. 350,000/=
3. GENERAL INFORMATION
i. Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens ready to work anywhere in the Mbeya District Council.
ii. Applicants must be between 18 and 45 years of age.
iii. All applicants should attach copies of their Detailed CV (Detailed C.V.).
iv. All applicants are required to attach copies of all relevant certificates (Form IV, Form VI, Professional, etc.) and their National ID (NIDA) or a number showing that they are registered for a National ID from NIDA.
v. Attach copies of "Provisional Results" or "Statement of Results" will NOT be accepted; only official result slips will be considered.
vi. Applicants who studied in Tanzania should ensure their certificates are verified by the relevant authorities (TCU for higher education and NECTA for ordinary and advanced secondary education).
vii. Employees in the public service who meet these criteria should apply through their current employers, and their applications should be accompanied by their Original Birth Certificate.
viii. Failure to provide complete information on the required qualifications will lead to the rejection of the application.
ix. The deadline for receiving applications is 09.10.2025 at 9:30 AM in the morning.
x. All applications must be hand-delivered to the Office of the Executive Director of the Mbeya District Council.
