Global Learning Scholarship Program
Informa Connect is proud to announce the Global Learning Scholarship Program (GLSP), which provides opportunities for scientists and researchers from low- and middle-income countries to access the latest ideas, developments, science, technology, and partnerships to make a positive impact on fighting global disease. The mission of this program is to provide researchers from diverse backgrounds and limited resources the opportunity to participate in top-tier life science conferences and advanced networking and training opportunities at no cost.

Brazil Government Scholarship 2026 For International Students
The fully funded Brazil Government Scholarship is offered through the Postgraduate Student Agreement Program (PEC-PG) and covers tuition, monthly stipends, health insurance, and international travel fees for selected candidates. It functions as an international cooperation initiative, attracting foreigners to Brazil and encouraging the exchange of knowledge between partner countries, while also benefiting Brazilian institutions through the contact of Brazilian students and faculty with qualified researchers working abroad. Modalities include:

  • Full Doctorate in Brazil
  • Sandwich Doctorate in Brazil
  • Full Master's Degree in Brazil

Novo Nordisk Foundation Project Grants for Research within Nutrition Related to CMDS
The purpose of the 'Project Grants for research within nutrition related cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs)' is to develop new understandings and the translation/implementation of new and existing knowledge into society within prevention and management of nutrition related CMDs, as well as to support science capital in Denmark within nutritional sciences.

  • The main applicant must be based at a Danish university, hospital, or other non-profit research organisation and have at least a 50% affiliation at this institution.
  • If there is a co-applicant, they must be employed at a university, hospital, or other non-profit research organisation outside of Denmark.
  • A total of up to DKK 30 million is available for grants up to DKK 4 million (DKK 5 million if the project includes an international co-applicant) for projects lasting up to three years.

Novo Nordisk Foundation Challenge Programme - Modelling Human Cardiometabolic Disease
The Challenge is to develop one or more novel human Cardiometabolic Disease (CMD) model(s), preclinical, clinical, computational or a combination hereof, with sufficient characterisation and validation to demonstrate that the model(s) reflects the intricate mechanisms and multifactorial nature of these conditions better than current models.

  • The Challenge Programme supports collaboration between leading scientific experts to form a consortium of 2-4 research groups (main applicant plus 1-3 co-applicants).
  • The main applicant must be an independent tenured/tenure-track researcher with their own research group, employed at a European university, hospital, or non-profit research organisation, which will be the host institution and will be responsible for administration of the grant.
  • The main applicant must be employed at the host institution with at least a 75% commitment and must be guaranteed their own salary for the entire project period.
  • Co-applicant institutions may be located anywhere globally.
  • At least one applicant (either main- or co-applicant) must be at least 75% employed and have their research group at a Danish university, hospital, or non-profit research organisation.
  • Industry collaboration is allowed, but industrial partners cannot receive funding.
  • A total budget of up to DKK 150 million (ca. EUR 20 million) is available for grants of DKK 40 - 75 million (ca. EUR 5,4-10 million) for projects of 6 years duration.

Novo Nordisk Foundation Challenge Programme - Biological Systems under Non-equilibrium Conditions
The Challenge theme uncovers the mechanisms driving development, function and self-organisation of biological systems under non-equilibrium conditions. The research must be an interdisciplinary collaboration between fields such as biology, physics, chemistry, engineering or computer science.

  • The Challenge Programme supports collaboration between leading scientific experts to form a consortium of 2-4 research groups (main applicant plus 1-3 co-applicants).
  • The main applicant must be an independent tenured/tenure-track researcher with their own research group, employed at a European university, hospital, or non-profit research organisation, which will be the host institution and will be responsible for administration of the grant.

Novo Nordisk Challenge Program - Harnessing Biology for Climate-Resilient and Healthy Soils
The challenge is to prevent further soil degradation and enable the regeneration of healthy soils as a vital natural resource by deepening our fundamental understanding of how biological factors influence and interact with physiochemical and other properties of soil.

  • The Challenge Programme supports collaboration between leading scientific experts to form a consortium of 2-4 research groups (main applicant plus 1-3 co-applicants).
  • The main applicant must be an independent tenured/tenure-track researcher with their own research group, employed at a European university, hospital, or non-profit research organisation, which will be the host institution and will be responsible for administration of the grant.

This Challenge Programme aims to support highly ambitious and collaborative projects that are transformative and impactful in their aim to generate important new knowledge about human invasive fungal diseases and enable the development of better diagnostics and therapeutics.

TWAS-SISSA-Lincei Research Cooperation Visits Programme
UNESCO-TWAS, in collaboration with the Lincei Academy and the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), offers young scientists from Least Developed Countries the opportunity to visit either research laboratories at Centres of Excellence in Trieste or Udine, Italy.

  • The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, through UNESCO-TWAS, will cover travel expenses and provide subsistence costs for the stay in Italy.
  • Applicants must be a maximum age of 40 years on 31 December of the application year, hold an MSc (or higher degree), be nationals of a least developed country, and hold a research position in a least developed country.

University of British Columbia Mastercard Scholarship for Africans
The University of British Columbia (UBC) Mastercard Foundation Scholarship is a fully funded master's program for academically talented yet economically disadvantaged students from Sub-Saharan Africa. It aims to cultivate transformative leaders who will return to their communities to drive inclusive, sustainable development. Alongside academic funding, scholars receive leadership training, mentorship, career support, and access to a global alumni network.

  • For the 2026/27 session, the scholarship is open to the following UBC master's programs:
    • Faculty of Forestry: MSFM, MIF, MGEM
    • Faculty of Land and Food Systems: MFRE, MFS, MLWS
    • Faculty of Science: Master of Data Science
  • Applicants must be citizens or refugees of a Sub-Saharan African country, have lived a significant part of their life in Sub-Saharan Africa, and be 35 years old or younger at the time of application.

Supporting African Science and Tertiary Education (SASTE) Grant
The SASTE grant supports high potential individuals from Sub-Saharan Africa working in the field of Agriculture, Forestry, Water Management, Renewable Energies, Nutritional Science, Human and Veterinary Medicine for a research stay in Austria. Technical Sciences and IT are also eligible if there is a strong involvement in research projects of the mentioned fields.

  • Eligible individuals include:
    • Post-doctoral scientists (< 42 years old, women < 45 in case of child care)
    • Applicants hold a research position in Africa.
    • PhD earned from outside Austria is desirable but not obligatory.
    • 6 months prior to the planned stay, the applicant has not studied or worked in Austria.
    • A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 years of post-doctoral work experience within a University or higher research organization located in Sub-Sahara Africa.
    • Contract with the home institution for at least 2 more years after the research stay.
    • Confirmation by the Austrian hosting institution and the supervisor to accept the applicant as well as to provide the necessary resources for the research (office space, facilities, time, etc.).
    • Excellent language skills in English or German.
  • A monthly stipend of 1500 Euro is provided, with additional support for housing of up to 600 Euro/month.
  • There is a travel budget of up to 3000 Euro/year for scientific visits of the home institution and scientific conferences.

Fully Funded Sciences Po Mastercard Scholarship 2026 in France for African Students
The goal of the Sciences Po Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is to support 1,450 students and young professionals who demonstrate academic excellence, strong leadership potential, and a commitment to achieving change in Africa but who face significant barriers to access higher education.

  • All Master's degree programs offered by Sciences Po's seven Graduate Schools, plus select short programs and bridging courses, are eligible.
  • Applicants must be/have:
    • Citizens of Sub-Saharan African countries.
    • Undergraduate or graduate students with strong academic records.
    • Must demonstrate significant financial need (lowest two income quintiles in their country).
    • Proven leadership and community engagement.
    • Commitment to return to Africa to contribute to socioeconomic development.

AfDB Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) Program for Young Africans to Study in Japan
The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) is a capacity building program by the African Development Bank and the Government of Japan. The program offers high-achieving African students a two-year scholarship opportunity to pursue post-graduate studies at master's level in energy, agriculture, health, environmental sustainability, and engineering.

  • The scholarship is open to applicants from regional member countries of the African Development Bank.
  • Upon completion of their studies, the scholars are expected to return to their home countries and contribute to national and continental socio-economic development.
  • Applicants should have at least 1 year of paid employment in their home country or in other African countries after receiving their Bachelors (or equivalent university) degree within the past 3 years.
  • Candidates should be 35 years old or younger.
  • Benefits include:
    • Tuition fee coverage for the duration of the study program (24 months).
    • Monthly living stipend for the duration of the study program (24 months).
    • Air travel from the home country to the host university at the start of the study program and back home at the end of the scholarship period.
    • Health insurance, usually obtained through the university.
    • Additional six (6) months for advance preparatory study or internships after graduation.

UNESCO Remote Experimental Training: Extracellular Vesicle Production, Purification and Characterization
In alignment with the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science and UNESCO's Remote Access to Lab Equipment (UNESRALE) Initiative, the Université Paris Cité (UPCité) and NABI/IVETh in France, in collaboration with UNESCO, are launching a remote capacity-building training on Extracellular Vesicle Production, Purification and Characterization.

  • The program is open to young African PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career researchers (PhD) up to 35 years old working in the fields of biophysics, biotechnology, biochemistry, bioengineering, and related disciplines.
  • Eligible applicants must demonstrate strong proficiency in English and have a solid foundation in the basic sciences (physics, chemistry, and biology).
  • Participants are expected to commit fully to all sessions of the course (mornings 9:00-13:00, CET for 1 week: Monday, 27 October 2025 to Friday 31 October 2025) and have access to a reliable internet connection.

Better Evidence for Clinical Care
Better Evidence for Clinical Care grants clinicians free access to evidence-based digital tools to ensure that they have the information needed to diagnose, treat, and advise their patients. Since 2009, they have worked with UpToDate, a leading clinical decision support tool, and other digital tool providers to facilitate free access to health workers in low resource settings around the world. They have provided more than 250,000 subscriptions to clinicians working in more than 185 countries.

  • To qualify for a free year-long subscription to UpToDate, applicants must:
    • Be a physician, surgeon, nurse, physician assistant, or medical student outside of the United States.
    • Volunteer/work for a public or non-profit entity.
    • Have at least intermittent Internet access.
    • Be able to complete the application in English.
    • Explain how your work directly aligns with the program aim.
    • Have a public online presence that verifies their identity.
    • Verify that neither you nor your institution can afford UpToDate.

Global Mapping of Scientific Infrastructure and Needs across UNESCO Member States
In alignment with the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science and UNESCO’s Remote Access to Lab Equipment (UNESRALE) Initiative, UNESCO is conducting a comprehensive survey to:

  • Map infrastructure/scientific equipment that could be offered for remote access.
  • Identify researchers' needs, including small equipment required for sample preparation to enable the usage of the remotely accessible equipment.
  • Collect information of support that can be offered by institution/universities to externals from the same country for sample preparation.
    Deadline: The survey has no set closing date.
