JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Executive Director of Bunda District Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for seventeen (17) job vacancies in this Council, following approval from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, for the following positions:

1.0 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II - (01 POST)

1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(i) Typing letters, reports, and routine and confidential documents;
(ii) Receiving guests, interviewing them about their problems, and directing them to the appropriate sections for assistance;
(iii) Maintaining records and logs of events, appointments, guests, meeting dates, supervisor's travel, and other work schedules;
(iv) Retrieving files and documents required for the execution of work duties;
(v) Receiving files and distributing them to Officers in the relevant Department/Unit/Section;
(vi) Collecting, maintaining, and returning files or documents to the relevant sections;
(vii) Preparing excerpts and making arrangements for various meetings;
(viii) Preparing a list of office equipment requirements; and
(ix) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Must have completed Form IV or Form VI education and possess a National Technical Award (NTA) Level 6 certificate in Secretarial Studies. Must be proficient in Kiswahili and English shorthand at a speed of 100 words per minute. Must have computer training from any Government-recognized institution and possess a certificate in "Windows Programs, Microsoft Office, Internet, Email, and Publisher".

1.1.3 SALARY: TGS C

1.2 RECORDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT GRADE II - (04 POSTS)

1.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(i) Registering incoming correspondence in the incoming mail register;
(ii) Registering outgoing correspondence in the outgoing mail register;
(iii) Distributing files to action officers;
(iv) Receiving files returned to records from action officers;
(v) Searching for records/documents/files required by action officers;
(vi) Returning files to racks/filing cabinets or other storage areas;
(vii) Tracking the movement of files within the institution.

1.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Must have completed Form IV or Form VI education and possess a Certificate (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from a Government-recognized institution.

1.2.3 SALARY SCALE: TGS C

1.3 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT GRADE II - (02 POSTS)

1.3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(i) Assisting in designing and planning development projects in their area;
(ii) Assisting in facilitating and providing training on development issues in their area;
(iii) Participating in the implementation of development activities;
(iv) Assisting in providing education on self-employment activities in their area;
(v) Preparing and submitting monthly reports on community development activities to Village Leadership and the supervisor;
(vi) Assisting in forming social and development groups;
(vii) Identifying and enabling poor households to improve their economy through available opportunities and resources;
(viii) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

1.3.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Must have completed Form IV or Form VI education and possess a Certificate in Community Development from a Community Development College or another Government-recognized institution in one of the following fields: Community Development, Sociology, Development Studies, Project Planning and Management, Gender and Development, Rural Development.

1.3.3 SALARY SCALE: TGS B

1.4 DRIVER GRADE II - (10 POSTS)

1.4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(i) Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety condition;
(ii) Transporting staff to various locations on official trips;
(iii) Performing minor vehicle repairs;
(iv) Collecting and distributing various documents;
(v) Recording and maintaining all trip details in the trip logbook;
(vi) Cleaning the vehicle;
(vii) Performing any other duties as directed by the supervisor.

1.4.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Applicants must have a Form IV certificate and a Class E or C driver's license, with at least one (1) year of accident-free driving experience, along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective license classes. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA College or another Government-recognized institution.

1.4.3 SALARY: TGS B

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify the type of disability in the job application system for the information of the Secretary of Employment in the Public Service.
iii. Applicants for the Driver Grade II position with a Class E or C license MUST ATTACH their driver training certificates which qualified them to obtain the respective license classes.
iv. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a functional address, available phone numbers, and an Email address, along with the names of three (3) reliable referees.
v. Job applicants who are already employed on temporary terms in the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to the instructions in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
vi. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of Academic and Professional certificates by a Magistrate/Lawyer, including Form IV or VI certificates for those who reached that level, and various training completion certificates depending on the job requirements (Diplomas/Certificates, Form IV and VI Examination Certificates, Computer Certificate, Professional Certificates from respective Boards).
vii. “Testimonials”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of Results”, Form IV and Form VI Results Slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
viii. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates have been verified and validated by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
ix. Applicants retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary;
x. Submission of false information and credentials will lead to legal action against the responsible individuals.
xi. The deadline for submitting job applications is September 17, 2025.
