JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT (RE-ADVERTISED)

The Executive Director of Kakonko District Council invites qualified and interested Tanzanians to apply for the job vacancies listed below to work in Kakonko District Council, after receiving approval for the financial year 2023/2024, with Ref. No. FA.97/228/01/09 dated 25.06.2024, from the Chief Secretary, President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance.

1.0 DRIVER GRADE II - 1 POST

1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF DRIVER GRADE II
i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety condition.
ii. Transporting staff to various locations on official trips.
iii. Performing minor vehicle repairs.
iv. Maintaining and recording all trips in the vehicle logbook.
v. Collecting and distributing various documents.
vi. Cleaning the vehicle.
vii. Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

1.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Must have completed Form IV and obtained a Form IV Examination Certificate. Must have a Class 'E' or 'C' driver's license along with driving experience of at least one (1) year without causing an accident, together with training certificates that qualified them for the respective license classes, and must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) College or another Government-recognized institution.

1.1.2 SALARY SCALE
According to Government Salary Scales TGS B per month.

2.0 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II - 1 POST

2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Typing letters, reports, and routine and confidential documents.
ii. Receiving guests, listening to their problems, and directing them to where they can be assisted.
iii. Maintaining records of events, appointments, meeting dates, supervisor's travel, and other work schedules.
iv. Retrieving files and documents needed for the execution of work duties.
v. Receiving files and distributing them to Officers in the relevant Department/Unit/Section.
vi. Collecting, maintaining, and returning files and documents to the relevant sections.
vii. Preparing excerpts and making arrangements for various meetings.
viii. Preparing a list of office equipment requirements; and
ix. Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

2.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Must have Form IV or Form VI education with a Secretarial Studies Certificate or NTA level 6 certificate in Secretarial Studies. Additionally, must be proficient in Kiswahili and English shorthand at a speed of 100 words per minute and have completed computer training in Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, and Publisher from any Government-recognized institution.

2.1.2 SALARY SCALE
According to Government Salary Scales TGS C per month.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR JOB APPLICANTS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify the type of disability in the job application system.
iii. All applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by a Magistrate/Lawyer.
iv. Applicants who are already employed on temporary terms in the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to the instructions in Circular No. CCA. 45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
v. Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a reliable address and phone numbers along with the names of three (3) reliable referees.
vi. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of professional certificates, details, and copies of certificates certified by a Magistrate/Lawyer, which include Form IV, Form VI certificates for those who reached that level, and various training completion certificates depending on the job requirements.
vii. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of Results, Form IV and Form VI Results Slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
viii. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates have been verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
ix. Applicants retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
x. Applicants with different names in their Professional, Birth, and NIDA certificates must attach a DEED POLL (Certificate of Registration of Name Change).
xi. Applicants with discrepancies in letters in their National ID and Professional Certificates, Form VI, Form IV, and birth certificate must attach an AFFIDAVIT (Oath).
xii. Applicants for the Driver Grade II position with a Class E or C license MUST ATTACH their driver training certificates which qualified them to obtain the respective license classes.
xiii. Applicants who submit false information and credentials will face legal action.
xiv. The deadline for submitting job applications is 16/09/2025.
