JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Director of Musoma District Council is pleased to announce fourteen (14) job vacancies after receiving new Employment Approval for the Year 2024/2025 with Reference No. FA.97/288/01/A/25 dated 29th April, 2025 from the Chief Secretary, President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance. Therefore, he welcomes job applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the positions as follows:
1.1. DRIVER GRADE II – FIVE (5) POSTS
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF DRIVER GRADE II
i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety condition.
ii. Transporting staff to various locations on official trips.
iii. Performing minor repairs on the vehicle.
iv. Collecting and distributing various documents.
v. Recording and maintaining all trip details in the trip logbook.
vi. Cleaning the vehicle.
vii. Performing any other duties as directed by the supervisor.
1.1.1. QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
Applicants must have a Form IV certificate and a Class E or C driver’s license, with at least one (1) year of accident-free driving experience, along with training certificates that qualified them for the respective license classes. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA College or another Government-recognized institution.
1.1.2 SALARY
According to Government Salary Scales, i.e., TGS B
1.2 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II – FOUR (04) POSTS
1.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II
(i) Registering incoming correspondence in the incoming mail register.
(ii) Registering outgoing correspondence in the outgoing mail register.
(iii) Distributing files to action officers.
(iv) Receiving returned files from action officers.
(v) Returning files to racks/filing cabinets or other storage areas.
(vi) Tracking the movement of files within the institution.
1.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
Applicants must have Form IV or Form VI education and a Certificate (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from a Government-recognized institution, with computer skills.
1.2.3 SALARY
According to Government Salary Scales, i.e., TGS C
1.3 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY II – FIVE (05) POSTS
1.3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY II
(i) Typing letters, reports, and routine and confidential documents.
(ii) Receiving guests, interviewing them about their issues, and directing them to where they can be assisted.
(iii) Maintaining records of events, appointments, meeting dates, supervisor’s travel, and other work schedules.
(iv) Retrieving files and documents needed for the execution of work duties.
(v) Receiving files and distributing them to officers in the relevant division/unit/section.
(vi) Collecting, maintaining, and returning files and documents to the relevant sections.
(vii) Preparing excerpts and making arrangements for various meetings.
(viii) Preparing a list of office equipment requirements.
1.3.2 QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
Applicants must have Form IV or Form VI education and a Diploma/Certificate in Secretarial Studies (NTA Level 6). Additionally, they must be proficient in Kiswahili and English shorthand at a speed of 100 words per minute and have completed computer training in office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher from a Government-recognized institution.
1.3.3 SALARY
According to Government Salary Scales, i.e., TGS C
1.4 GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens and not exceed 45 years of age.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify the type of disability in the job application system for the information of the Secretary of Employment in the Public Service.
iii. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a functional address, always available phone numbers, and an Email address, along with the names of at least three referees.
iv. Applicants who are already Public Servants and have acquired qualifications for a different cadre than their current one must submit their job application letters through their employers, and their employers must endorse them accordingly.
v. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of Academic and Professional certificates by a Magistrate/Lawyer, including Form IV or VI certificates for those who reached that level and relevant professional training certificates (Diploma, Certificates, Form IV and VI Certificates, Computer Certificate).
vi. “Testimonials”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of Results”, Form IV and Form VI Results Slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
vii. Applicants who studied abroad must ensure their certificates are verified and validated by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
viii. Applicants retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
ix. If applicants submit false information, legal action will be taken against them.
x. Job applicants who are already employed on temporary terms in the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to the instructions in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.
xi. The deadline for submitting job applications is 12th September, 2025.
