1. Insurance Specialist; Claims (1 Position)

Job Location: Head Office, HQ

Job Purpose

The Insurance Specialist will be responsible for handling all claims processes and procedures for both general and life insurance products. The role ensures timely claims payments, effective handling of customer complaints, and safeguarding the interests of both the bank and its clients by ensuring that all valid claims are honored.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage all life and general insurance claims.

  • Administer the embedded life and general insurance claim portfolio.

  • Track insurance claims to ensure settlement within agreed turnaround times (TAT).

  • Oversee claim procedures for all insurance products.

  • Support the claims team and maintain strong relationships with insurers’ claims teams.

  • Proactively identify and resolve claim-related issues in a timely manner.

  • Manage relationships with customers, branches, and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with Bancassurance regulations regarding claims and customer protection.

  • Review submitted claims and validate their authenticity.

  • Identify and mitigate risks arising from claim management.

  • Develop faster and safer claim settlement processes.

  • Consolidate and prepare monthly claim performance reports for each insurer.

  • Reconcile claims paid versus claims submitted.

  • Ensure claim settlement aligns with SLAs and internal guidelines.

  • Provide timely feedback to stakeholders on claim decisions.

  • Guide and support customers throughout the claims process.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple claims efficiently to meet deadlines.

Knowledge and Skills

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance Business, Risk Management, or related field.

  • Professional certification/training in insurance and risk management is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the insurance sector with a reputable institution.

  • Experience in underwriting, claims, and sales of insurance products is an added advantage.

2. Monitoring Officer (Fixed Term – 2 Years) (1 Position)

Job Location: Head Office

Job Purpose

The Monitoring Officer will provide support to Senior Managers in the Credit Administration Unit through comprehensive post-approval processes. The role carries full responsibility for credit documentation and monitoring, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective oversight throughout the loan lifecycle to mitigate credit risk.

Main Responsibilities

  • Review conditions subsequent to credit approvals, including timely payment of land rent and renewal of insurance covers.

  • Monitor and test financial covenants in line with approved thresholds.

  • Regularly review the credit portfolio and notify business units of upcoming renewals.

  • Review loans in arrears and coordinate with business units for timely resolution.

  • Monitor overdraft facilities for limit breaches or expiry and communicate findings.

  • Flag persistent hardcore overdraft utilization for escalation.

  • Review unauthorized overdrafts from matured LCs and guarantees and ensure timely regularization.

  • Identify early signs of account deterioration and initiate remedial action.

  • Track, monitor, and close all credit exceptions on time.

  • Update collateral records accurately in the Collateral Management Tool (CMT).

  • Coordinate discharge and release of collateral for settled facilities.

  • Ensure timely completion of annual credit reviews.

  • Participate in audits and quality checks to ensure compliance.

  • Provide guidance to business units on loan documentation.

  • Stay updated on regulations and trends in credit monitoring and administration.

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit tools and systems.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of loan portfolio management, NMB lending policies, and loan products.

  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in Excel and data analysis.

  • Skills in communication, negotiation, time management, teamwork, and relationship management.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail in credit monitoring and documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ banking experience, including at least 1 year in retail lending.

3. Senior Project Manager (1 Position)

Job Purpose

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, from initiation to closure. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, and governance.

Main Responsibilities

Project Lifecycle Management

  • Lead initiation of projects by defining objectives, scope, feasibility, and plans.

  • Oversee execution by directing daily activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring scope, budget, and timelines are controlled.

  • Manage project closure including contractual obligations, financial settlements, and documentation.

  • Monitor performance of all projects in the portfolio and resolve issues.

Financial and Contract Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and forecast costs.

  • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and financial documents.

  • Manage project contracts to ensure adherence to terms.

Stakeholder Communication and Management

  • Act as the primary communication point for consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.

  • Provide project updates and reports to senior management.

  • Address stakeholder concerns and manage expectations.

  • Establish governance and communication structures for all projects.

  • Chair project working committees and serve as secretary of steering committees.

Team Management and Development

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise the Construction Projects Management Unit.

  • Coach and guide Project Managers and Officers.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate team meetings.

  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

  • Ensure all projects comply with policies, standards, and safety requirements.

  • Conduct site inspections and address safety concerns.

  • Promote a culture of accountability and safety.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and regulations.

  • Advanced understanding of building construction best practices.

  • Proven experience managing projects of varying complexity.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction or related field.
