The government has announced 41,500 job vacancies in various cadres for the 2025/26 financial year and urged qualified Tanzanians to seize this opportunity.
The vacancies include 12,176 positions in the education sector, 10,280 in the health sector under local government authorities, 470 in agriculture, 312 in livestock, 47 in fisheries, and 7,000 in security services, including the Police Force, Prisons, Fire and Rescue, and Immigration, among others.
The announcement was made today, October 11, 2025, in Dodoma by the Permanent Secretary in the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Juma Mkomi, while briefing the press about the government’s employment plans for the 2025/26 fiscal year.
“I have directed the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat to begin the recruitment process for these 2025/26 positions and finalize the pending ones from 2024/25. To ensure smooth implementation, all employers are instructed to provide full cooperation,” he stated.
He added that, to minimize interview costs, the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat has been directed to conduct interviews in every region on the Tanzanian mainland and at designated centers in Zanzibar.
This arrangement, he noted, will allow applicants from respective areas to apply and attend interviews conveniently.
