Saifee Hospital Zanzibar is a registered Organization that manages the operation of eight district hospitals of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, under the Ministry of Health of Zanzibar (MOH).
Mission: To deliver accessible, high-quality healthcare to all communities in Zanzibar by fostering innovation, compassion, and collaboration between district hospitals.

On behalf of the Ministry of Health, Saifee Hospital Zanzibar is looking for young, energetic, well-experienced, and academically strong individuals to fill 240 positions for Medical Doctors and 360 positions for Registered Nurses.
Medical Doctors (240 Positions)
General Requirements:
- Full licensure with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT)
- Minimum 1 year of post-internship clinical experience
- BLS certification (mandatory)
- ACLS, ATLS, or PALS certifications are a strong advantage
- Ability to work flexibly across Emergency, OPD, IPD, ICU, NICU, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Surgery, Medicine, and Pediatrics
- Nationality: Tanzanian
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care – Diagnose, treat, and monitor patient conditions; provide emergency and chronic care.
- Medical Documentation – Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
- Communication – Collaborate with healthcare teams and communicate clearly with patients and families.
- Clinical Procedures – Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while ensuring safety standards.
- Education & Training – Mentor interns and participate in CME activities.
- Ethical & Legal Responsibilities – Uphold confidentiality, ethics, and reporting obligations.
- Teamwork & Leadership – Lead rounds and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
- Quality Improvement & Auditing – Participate in audits and protocol improvement.
- Administrative Duties – Manage forms, referrals, and schedules.
- Public Health & Preventive Care – Support community health and prevention initiatives.
Registered Nurses (Degree/Diploma) (360 Positions)
General Requirement: Citizen of Tanzania, Age: Above 18 Years.

General Nursing Staff
- Qualification: Diploma in Nursing (preferred BSc for senior roles)
- Experience: 0–2 years
- Role: Bedside care, medication administration, monitoring vitals, documentation

Emergency & Casualty Nurses
- Qualification: Diploma/BSc Nursing with trauma/emergency training desirable
- Experience: 2–3 years
- Role: Triage, resuscitation, emergency stabilization

ICU/Critical Care Nurses
- Qualification: BSc or Diploma with ICU training
- Experience: 2–4 years
- Role: Manage ventilators, critical monitoring, assist in life-saving care

Operation Theatre (OT) Nurses - Scrub Nurses
- Qualification: Diploma/BSc Nursing; OT certification preferred
- Experience: 1–3 years
- Role: Scrubbing, maintaining sterility, assisting surgeons

Maternity & Obstetric Nurses
- Qualification: Diploma/BSc with Midwifery
- Experience: 1–3 years
- Role: Conduct deliveries, maternal and newborn care

Pediatric Nurses
- Qualification: Diploma/BSc Nursing; Pediatric training desirable
- Experience: 1–3 years
- Role: Care for children and neonates, immunization support

Infection Control Nurse
- Qualification: BSc Nursing (preferred)
- Experience: 3–5 years
- Role: Implement infection prevention protocols, conduct audits

Nurse Educator
- Qualification: BSc minimum, MSc preferred
- Experience: 4–6 years clinical and teaching
- Role: Conduct CNE programs, mentoring, and training

Ward In-Charge (Unit Supervisors)
- Qualification: BSc or Diploma with 5+ years of experience
- Experience: Supervisory and leadership experience
- Role: Supervise ward activities, manage rosters, ensure quality care

Anesthetic Nurse
- Qualification: Diploma/BSc Nursing with anesthesia training preferred
- Experience: 2–3 years
- Role: Assist anesthetists pre-op, intra-op & post-op, patient monitoring
