CONTRACT JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The Medical Officer in Charge of Maweni Regional Referral Hospital - Kigoma announces a job opportunity for qualified Tanzanians to work on a contract basis at Maweni Regional Referral Hospital under the THPS organization in the position of a Doctor who will oversee all activities of the HIV program at the service points within the facility.

Position: SITE MANAGER/CTC CLINICIAN (1 Post)

The Site Manager/CTC Clinician will be responsible for providing clinical services to clients receiving care and treatment at the Care and Treatment Center (CTC) and for managing the facility's team of healthcare providers funded by THPS under the Afya Hatua project, which provides various HIV/AIDS services.

Duties of the Site Manager/CTC Clinician:
i. Participate in the identification and initiation of treatment services for HIV viral suppression.
ii. Implement differentiated service delivery models.
iii. Identify and manage patients with advanced HIV disease.
iv. Diagnose and treat opportunistic infections (OIs), e.g., Cryptococcal Meningitis.
v. Follow up on viral load testing for clients to ensure they achieve early HIV viral suppression.
vi. Provide diagnostic and treatment services for non-communicable diseases such as Diabetes (DM), Hypertension, and Cancer Screening.
vii. Collaborate with the laboratory team to ensure proper blood sample collection and work with counselors to identify clients eligible for HIV drug resistance testing (HIVDR / GART).
viii. Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports in collaboration with the facility's data team at THPS.
ix. Participate in the Facility Improvement Team (WIT) to establish QI projects for various indicators that are underperforming to bring about Positive Change.
x. Perform other duties as assigned by his/her Supervisor.

The specialist will work closely with nurses, data specialists (dispensing unit), data officers, clinical trackers, and community-level service providers (peer educators) to ensure good adherence to treatment, good patient retention, and will ensure a good system for clinic appointments, patient flow, and a better system for file storage.

Applicant Qualifications:
i. Must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a government-recognized university.
ii. Must be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT) and have a valid license to practice.
iii. At least two years of experience providing HIV/AIDS services (CTC/ART program) will be an added advantage.
iv. Good leadership, planning, and self-organization skills.
v. Ability to use ICT systems and health information programs (CTC2, DHIS2, etc.).
vi. Fluent in speaking and writing Swahili and English.

Salary Scale:
