JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The City Director of Arusha City Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for job vacancies within the Council, following approval from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:
1.0 DRIVER II - 6 POSITIONS (RE-ADVERTISED)
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To inspect the vehicle before and after a trip to ascertain its safety condition.
- To drive employees to various locations for official duties.
- To perform minor vehicle maintenance.
- To collect and distribute various documents.
- To fill and maintain a logbook for all trips.
- To clean the vehicle.
1.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
- Must be a holder of a Form IV Certificate with a Class E or C driver's license, which they have used for at least one (1) year without causing an accident.
- Must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or another Government-recognized institution.
1.1.2 SALARY SCALE
- The position is based on the Government Salary Scale TGS B1.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be citizens of Tanzania, aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. All applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by a Lawyer/Advocate.
iii. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a current address, accessible phone numbers, an email address, and the names of three credible referees.
iv. Applicants for the Driver II position with a Class E or C license must attach the training certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective license classes.
v. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of academic and professional certificates, transcripts, and birth certificates, all certified by a Lawyer/Advocate.
vi. "Testimonials," "Provisional Results," "Statement of Results," and "FORM FOUR and FORM SIX RESULTS SLIPS" WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
vii. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates are verified and certified by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
viii. Retired public servants are not permitted to apply unless they have approval from the Chief Secretary.
ix. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to the directives in Circular No. CCA. 45/257/01/D dated 30th November 2010.
x. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must declare their disability in the application portal.
xi. Applicants with discrepancies in their names across different documents must have a deed poll.
xii. Legal action will be taken against applicants who submit fraudulent information.
xiii. Applicants who are shortlisted for an interview are advised to bring warm clothing due to the weather conditions in Arusha City during this period.
xiv. The deadline for submitting applications is 20th October, 2025.
