1.0 THE NELSON MANDELA AFRICAN INSTITUTION OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (NM-AIST)
The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha is one in a network of Pan-African Institutions of Science and Technology located across Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). These institutions, which are the proud brainchild of the late Nelson Mandela, envision training and developing the next generation of African scientists and engineers with a view to impacting profoundly on the continent's development through the application of Science, Engineering and Technology and Innovation (SETI). The NM-AIST, which is accredited by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) is being developed into a world-class research-intensive institution for postgraduate and post-docs studies and research in SETI. The NM-AIST invites applications from suitably qualified and competent Tanzanian to fill the following vacancies:

1.1 SENIOR LECTURER (REGULATORY SCIENCES/INDUSTRIAL PHARMACY/PHARMACY/PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES) - (1 POST)
1.1.1 School of Life Sciences and Bio-engineering
1.1.2 Duties and Responsibilities:
i. To undertake an induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before;
ii. To carry out research and innovation activities;
iii. To carry out lectures, invigilation and assessment for postgraduate programes;
iv. To play a leadership role at the level of the school;
v. To mentor junior staff in relevant fields;
vi. To develop curricula;
vii. To develop and manage various university activities;
viii. To undertake research and publish/disseminate results;
ix. To establish academic or professional chairs for the institution;
x. To carry out consultancy and community services;
xi. To write teaching manuals and compendia;
xii. To supervise, Master's and PhD dissertations/theses;
xiii. To organize and participate in workshops, conferences and symposia;
xiv. To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities.

1.1.3 Qualifications and Experience
Holder of PhD in Regulatory Sciences, Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences or related fields. a Master's Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum of 3.8 out of 5 in the First Degree. In addition, one must have working experience of at least three (3) years in a related field and minimum total of 5 points from peer reviewed publications. If an applicant possesses Unclassified Master's Degree by thesis/research only shall be considered for recruitment if he/she had published at least two (2) papers in reputed peer reviewed journals.

1.1.4 Remuneration - PUTS 4.1

1.2 SENIOR LECTURER (NUCLEAR SCIENCES/NUCLEAR PHYSICS/RADIATION SCIENCES/NUCLEAR ENGINEERING/NUCLEAR TECHNOLOGY/HEALTH PHYSICS AND RADIATION SAFETY) – (1 POST)
1.2.1 School of Materials, Energy, Water and Environmental Sciences (MEWES)
1.2.2 Duties and Responsibilities:
i. To undertake an induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before;
ii. To carry out research and innovation activities;
iii. To carry out lectures, invigilation and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate programes;
iv. To play a leadership role at the level of the school;
v. To mentor junior staffs in relevant fields;
vi. To develop curricula;
vii. To develop and manage various university activities;
viii. To undertake research and publish/disseminate results;
ix. To establish academic or professional chairs for the institution;
x. To carry out consultancy and community services;
xi. To write teaching manuals and compendia;
xii. To supervise Master's and PhD dissertations/theses;
xiii. To organize and participate in workshop, conferences and symposia;
xiv. To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities.

1.2.3 Qualifications and Experience
Holder of PhD in Nuclear Sciences, Nuclear Physics, Radiation Sciences, Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Technology, Health Physics and Radiation safety or related fields. a Master's Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum of 3.8 out of 5 in the First Degree. In addition, one must have working experience of at least 3 years in a related field and minimum total of 5 points from peer reviewed. 1.3.1 School of Computational Communication Science and Engineering
1.3.2 Duties and Responsibilities:
i. To Conduct lectures, seminars and practical for Masters and PhD programmes.
ii. To Carry out research and innovation activities in relevant field.
iii. To Mentor junior staff in all relevant matters.
iv. To Participate in curriculum development
v. To Participate in developing and managing of various Institutions' projects.
vi. To Carry out community/outreach services
vii. To Supervise Masters and PhD student projects
viii. To Organize and participate in workshops, conferences and symposia.
ix. To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities.

1.3.3 Qualifications and Experience
Holder of PhD in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Informatics, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computational Sciences and Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, with a Masters' Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0, and a Minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5.0 or its equivalent in the First degree with Minimum scores of B+ in Relevant Subjects or its equivalent.

1.3.4 Remuneration - PUTS 3.3

1.4 LECTURER - INTERNET SECURITY/CYBER SECURITY/INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY - 1 POST
1.4.1 School of Computational Communication Science and Engineering
1.4.2 Duties and Responsibilities:
x. To Conduct lectures, seminars and practical for Masters and PhD programmes.
xi. To carry out research and innovation activities;
xii. To Carry out research and innovation activities in relevant field.
xiii. To Mentor junior staff in all relevant matters.
xiv. To Participate in curriculum development
xv. To Participate in developing and managing of various Institutions' projects.
xvi. To Carry out community/outreach services
xvii. To Supervise Masters and PhD student projects
xviii. To Organize and participate in workshops, conferences and symposia.
xix. To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities.

1.4.3 Qualifications and Experience
Holder of PhD in Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, Information Systems Security, Computer Science with a specialization in Security, Cloud Computing, Telecommunications and Network Security, Blockchain, Computer Engineering, or related fields in a specialized functional area, with a Masters' Degree in the relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0, and a Minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5.0 or its equivalent in the First degree with Minimum scores of B+ in Relevant Subjects or its equivalent.

1.4.4 Remuneration - PUTS 3.3

GENERAL CONDITIONS

    vii. An applicant must upload recent Passport Size Photo in the Recruitment Portal;
    viii. An applicant who is retired from the Public Service for whatever reason should not apply;
    ix. An applicant should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts;
    x. The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) should verify certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education;
    xi. The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) should verify certificates from foreign Universities and other training institutions;
    xii. Certificates from foreign Universities should bear a GPA calculated (out of five (5) grade points) by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU);

    xiv. Deadline for application is 14th October, 2025;
