VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Arusha Co-operative Union (ACU Ltd) announces two (2) vacancies for the position of Assistant Agricultural Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Establish and manage model farms.
2. Collect various agricultural data.
3. Oversee Primary Societies in preparing Union farms.
4. Train farmers on modern agricultural practices.
5. Conduct farm visits to assist farmers.
6. Collaborate with agricultural researchers and stakeholders to enhance crop productivity.
7. Monitor and evaluate agricultural data collection.
8. Develop training programs on proper use of agricultural inputs.
9. Work with researchers to issue warnings on crop disease indicators.
10. Advise on the use of improved seeds.
11. Control crop pests.
12. Prepare and document seasonal agricultural plans for farmers.

Qualifications for Applicants:

1. Holders of Form IV or VI with a Diploma in Agriculture or Agriculture and Livestock from a government-recognized institution.
2. At least one year of experience in agriculture or livestock activities.
3. Proficiency in speaking and writing reports in English and Swahili.
4. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and Email).
5. Ability to design and write agricultural and livestock plans for farmers' benefit.
6. Willingness to attend relevant agricultural training as needed.
7. Capability to explain modern agricultural and livestock technologies to farmers.
8. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and good moral character.

1. Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged not more than 35 years.
2. Attach a copy of birth certificate.
3. Submit a detailed CV with reliable contact details and three referees.
4. Include certified copies of academic certificates (Form IV/VI, Diploma, and other relevant qualifications).
5. Applicants must be ready to work in Arusha or Manyara Region (Kiteto District, Songambele Farm).
6. Attach one recent passport-sized photo with the name written on the back.
