Announcement: Call for Applications – Board Member Vacancies at MDH
Management and Development for Health (MDH) is seeking highly qualified and committed individuals to fill three (3) voluntary, non-remunerated positions on its Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and governance of one of Tanzania’s leading health-focused NGOs.
About MDH
MDH is a respected Tanzanian non-profit organization dedicated to addressing critical public health challenges, including HIV, Tuberculosis, Malaria, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Maternal and Child Health, and health systems strengthening. MDH works in close partnership with the Government of Tanzania, international donors, and local communities.
Role of Board Members
Board Members will provide governance, oversight, and strategic guidance to ensure MDH’s mission and sustainability. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on organizational strategy, policies, and financial stewardship.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Supporting resource mobilization and partnership development.
- Participating in quarterly meetings and committee work.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Expertise in Public Health, Healthcare Management, Finance, Law, HR, or related fields.
- Prior board or governance experience (preferably in NGOs or health sectors).
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in a relevant discipline.
- Professional certifications in governance or health management.
- Established networks in health or development sectors.
