EGYPT GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026
Call for Application
The General Public is hereby informed that the Ministry of Higher Education of Egypt is offering scholarships under the initiative “EGY-AID” and the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif scholarships for suitable Tanzanian candidates to apply for undergraduate and postgraduate studies for the academic year 2025/2026 through its portal: https://admission.study-in-egypt.gov.eg
1. General Requirements
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
(i) Be a citizen of their respective country.
(ii) Be a Muslim.
(iii) Must not be currently enrolled in another scholarship in or outside Egypt.
(iv) Must be physically fit and free from contagious diseases, certified by an approved medical certificate.
- All documents must be completed, officially approved, and bear both the Republic's and Embassy's seals. Documents must be in Arabic, English, or French, or have a certified translation into one of these languages.
- The applicant's name on all documents must match exactly.
NB:
(i) Al-Azhar grant-funded studies are conducted in Arabic. Students opting for English or French shall bear all related costs.
(ii) Students are responsible for any costs due to travel date changes or cancellations. If the scholarship is terminated, students must cover their return fare.
2. Required Documents
- Certificate of Secondary Education certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Egyptian Embassy.
- Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) certified and approved.
- Original university certificates and transcripts for postgraduate applicants, certified and approved.
- Birth certificate, certified and approved.
- A valid passport copy.
- 6 recent passport-size photos with name written at the back.
- Medical certificate confirming the applicant is free from HIV, Hepatitis, and TB, certified by the Ministry of Health and the Egyptian Embassy.
- A certified statement confirming that the applicant’s high school certificate qualifies them for university in the issuing country.
All documents must be submitted in Arabic.
3. Scholarship Coverage
- Tuition fees.
- Monthly stipend (plus allowance for books and thesis printing for Master’s/PhD).
- Return ticket upon successful completion.
- Medical treatment at university and government hospitals.

NB: The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania will NOT offer financial support for this scholarship. Candidates must secure independent funding.
