JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Director of Mwanza City invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for six (06) job vacancies in this Council after obtaining permission from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance as per the following breakdown:
1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 5 POSITIONS
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine the vehicle's safety condition.
ii. To transport staff to various locations on official trips.
iii. To perform minor vehicle repairs.
iv. To handle and distribute various documents when required.
v. To fill out and maintain trip records in the log book.
vi. To clean the vehicle.
vii. Other duties as assigned by the Employer.
1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
To be employed, applicants must have a Form Four (Form IV) certificate and a Class E or C driving license for which they have worked for at least one year (1) without causing an accident, along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective classes. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by a VETA College or another Government-recognized College.

2.0 PLANT OPERATOR GRADE II – 1 POSITION
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To operate machinery competently without supervision.
ii. To set various required measurements according to the work being done and as directed by the work supervisor.
iii. To provide first-line maintenance services for machinery and to give correct instructions regarding machinery defects when required.
iv. To properly fill out the 'log sheet' and maintain accurate records of equipment consumption, e.g., oil, grease, and fuel.
v. To ensure that the machine/equipment is used for the intended tasks.
vi. To clean the machinery.
vii. To perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
2.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Must have a Form Four (Form IV) Examination Certificate. Must have a Class 'G' license for operating machinery along with skills in maintaining various types of that machinery. Must have a certificate/certificates that granted the driving license grade held. Must have experience in operating machinery such as Motor Grader, Vibratory Soil Compactor, Wheel Loader, Bull Dozer, Land Fill Compactor, and Excavator for a period of not less than three hundred (300) hours or three (3) months without causing an accident.

3.0 GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. All applicants must attach a detailed personal description (Detailed Curriculum Vitae), with an address, accessible phone numbers, and an Email address, along with the names of three reliable referees.
iii. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
iv. Applications should be written in Kiswahili or English.
v. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
vi. Job applicants who are already employed in intern positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to the instructions in Letter No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
vii. Submission of false information will lead to legal action against the concerned individuals.
viii. “Testimonial“, “Provisional Results“, “Statement of Results“, Form Four and Form Six Results Slips ARE NOT ALLOWED in applications for these positions.
ix. Must have a National Identity Card (NIDA).
