Job Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is seeking ten (10) qualified Field Interviewers to be based in Dar es Salaam to support field-based data collection, quality assurance, and documentation processes under the supervision of senior researchers and consultants.
Responsibilities
The Field Interviewer will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, and validating both quantitative and qualitative data according to established study protocols.
Ensure that data collection processes are of high quality, ethical, and compliant with IHI and national research standards.
Participate in training sessions on study tools, electronic data collection (CAPI), and research ethics.
Administer structured questionnaires to households, caregivers, and service providers.
Conduct direct observations, data verification, and checks at health, community, and ECD centers.
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data collected using tablets or mobile devices.
Support quality control checks, including revisits, validation, and spot checks.
Collaborate with district and regional officials to coordinate field logistics and obtain necessary permissions.
Report daily progress, field challenges, and data quality issues to the Field Coordinator.
Ensure data confidentiality and adhere to all ethical procedures approved by NIMR and IHI-IRB.
Desired Skills
Proficiency in using data collection software (e.g., SurveyCTO, KoboToolbox, ODK, or CSPro).
Skills in quantitative data management (collection and handling) and record keeping.
Familiarity with ethical principles of human subjects’ research and confidentiality.
Ability to build and sustain working relationships with staff at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to work in rural settings and under minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Professional attitude with the highest level of integrity.
Essential Qualification
Certificate in Sociology, Social Work, Science subjects, or any other related qualification from a recognized institution.
Preferred Experience
At least three (3) years of experience in field data collection or research implementation, preferably in health, nutrition, or ECD projects.
Preferred Language
Fluency in both English and Swahili.

ICT USER SUPPORT INTERN (1 Position(s))
Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and reliable ICT User Support Intern to collaborate with the ICT team at the Ifakara Branch, Morogoro. The ICT User Support Intern will manage and control branch LAN infrastructure, monitor network devices, and ensure all IT infrastructure operates smoothly in line with Ifakara Health Institute requirements.
Responsibilities
Provide users with maximum IT support to meet and exceed their expectations.
Facilitate the implementation of internal document sharing to reduce information redundancy, increase data security, improve file accessibility, and enhance network performance.
Control and manage branch LAN infrastructure to detect, diagnose, and resolve network performance problems and outages.
Monitor and manage network devices daily to identify and resolve network issues.
Install, add, and manage printing systems and control user access to printers.
Assist staff in connecting to the IHI wireless network and manage branch wireless services to support communication.
Facilitate software installation and management for branch users, including providing appropriate instructions and support.
Document all ICT devices and computers, including computer names, specifications, and usernames.
Perform quarterly preventive maintenance on IHI computers.
Enhance communication by ensuring the availability and proper functioning of desktop phones in offices.
