VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Executive Director of Igunga District Council invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill four (04) vacant positions within the Council after obtaining approval from the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:-
1.0 OFFICE ASSISTANT / OFFICE SECRETARY GRADE II – POSTS 04
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Typing letters, reports and both ordinary and confidential documents
ii. Receiving visitors, assisting them with their concerns and directing them to the appropriate offices
iii. Keeping records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, official trips of the supervisor and other work schedules
iv. Retrieving files and documents required for the execution of official duties
v. Receiving files and distributing them to relevant officers within the respective Departments/Units
vi. Collecting, keeping and updating files and documents in their respective places
vii. Preparing summaries and making arrangements for various meetings
viii. Preparing lists of office equipment and supplies requirements
ix. Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
1.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Applicants must be holders of Form IV or Form VI certificates with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or a Certificate of NTA Level 6 in Secretarial Studies. Applicants must have passed Kiswahili and English shorthand typing at a speed of 100 words per minute and possess computer skills in office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail and Publisher from a Government-recognized institution.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years

iii. Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with reliable contact address, reachable telephone numbers, e-mail address and names of three (03) credible referees. Provisional results, testimonials, statements of results and Form IV and Form VI results slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
iv. All applicants must attach a certified birth certificate verified by an Advocate/Lawyer
v. Applicants who were dismissed from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary
vi. Applicants who are already Public Servants and have obtained qualifications to join a different cadre must submit their applications through their respective employers
vii. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply and must comply with the directives contained in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010
viii. All applications must be accompanied by certified academic and professional certificates verified by an Advocate/Lawyer, including Form IV and Form VI certificates (where applicable) and other relevant professional training certificates in accordance with the job requirements
ix. Postgraduate, Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates, Form IV and Form VI examination certificates, Computer certificates and Professional certificates from respective Boards must be attached
x. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates are verified by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA or NECTVET)
xi. Submission of forged information or qualifications will result in legal action
xii. Application letters must be written in either Kiswahili or English
xiii. The deadline for submission of applications is 01 January, 2026
