JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Director of Songwe District Council announces to qualified Tanzanians the availability of five (5) job vacancies in this Council after obtaining permission from the Chief Secretary, President's Office Public Service Management and Good Governance as follows:

1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 05 POSTS

1.1 QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT

To be employed with a Form IV Certificate and a Class E or C driving license who have worked for a period of not less than one (1) year without causing an accident along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the said classes. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA College or another Government-recognized College.

1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine the safety condition of the vehicle;
ii. To transport staff to various places on official trips;
iii. To perform minor repairs on the vehicle;
iv. To collect and distribute various documents;
v. To record and maintain information of all trips in the trip logbook;
vi. To clean the vehicle; and
vii. To perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian Citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify in the Job Application System the disability they have for information to the Secretariat of Employment in the Public Service.
iii. Applicants for the Driver Grade II position with a Class E or C license must attach driving training certificates that qualified them to obtain the said classes.
iv. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a functional address, accessible phone numbers and an Email Address together with names of three reliable referees.
v. Job applicants who are already employed in internship positions within the Public Service should not apply and must consider the directives in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.
vi. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of Academic and Professional Certificates by an Advocate/Lawyer which are Form Four or Six Certificates for those who have reached that level and certificates of completion of various trainings considering the job qualifications including Diploma/Certificates, Form IV and VI Examination Certificates, Computer Certificate and Professional Certificates from respective Boards.
vii. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of results, Form Four and Form Six Results Slips (FORM IV AND FORM VI RESULTS SLIPS) will not be accepted.
viii. Applicants who studied outside the Country must ensure their certificates have been verified and validated by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA and NACTE).
ix. Applicants retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
x. Submission of false information and qualifications will lead to legal action against the culprits.
xi. The deadline for submitting job applications is 06th January, 2026.
