Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) is an Executive Agency under the Prime Minister’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government. It was established under Section 3(1) of the Executive Agencies Act (Cap. 245) through a Government Notice No. 211 dated May 2nd, 2017, and officially inaugurated on July 02, 2017.
Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) is responsible for managing the development and maintenance of rural and urban roads, axle load control, environmental management, and road reserve management to support economic development.
The Kilimanjaro Regional Manager, on behalf of the Chief Executive, intends to recruit self-motivated, qualified, and competent Tanzanians to fill the following vacant posts on a temporary contract basis (12 months).
POSITION TITLE: DRIVERS (6 POSTS)
DUTY STATION: TARURA KILIMANJARO
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holder of a Secondary Education Certificate plus a Basic Driving Course Certificate from VETA or NIT or any other recognized institution.
- Must have a valid Class C and E Driving License with at least three (3) years of accident-free driving experience.
- Fluent in Swahili with good knowledge of working English.
- Must be a Tanzanian.
- Must possess good character and conduct.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Should have not less than three (3) years of experience working in a recognized institution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To drive motor vehicles in accordance with road traffic rules and regulations.
- To ensure the motor vehicle is clean and in good order.
- To record and maintain all journey records in the logbook.
- To collect and dispatch mails.
- To report any accident to the immediate supervisor and to the Traffic Police.
- To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
- Retired public servants, regardless of the reason for retirement, should not apply.
