SCHOLARSHIPS TENABLE IN THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027

1.0 CALL FOR APPLICATION
Applicants are hereby informed that the Government of the People’s Republic of China has provided fully funded scholarships for Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programmes in Chinese Universities. Suitably qualified Tanzanian scholars are invited to apply for studies in various fields for the academic year 2026/2027. 2.0 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
i. Must be a citizen of the United Republic of Tanzania;
ii. Must have good academic performance;
iii. Must not be more than 25 years of age for Undergraduate programmes and not more than 35 years of age for Master’s programmes at the time of application;
iv. Must have a Master’s degree and be under the age of 40 if applying for a Doctoral degree programme;
v. Must have a valid passport or evidence of having applied for one; and
vi. Must be in good health.

3.0 APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants are required to submit certified photocopies of the following documents:
i. A completed Chinese Government Scholarship application form filled in either Chinese or English;
ii. Certified copies of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE), Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE), Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree certificates. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by certified translations in Chinese or English;
iii. Academic transcripts. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by certified translations in Chinese or English;
iv. A Study Plan or Research Proposal written in Chinese or English (minimum of 200 words for undergraduates, 500 words for non-degree students and 800 words for postgraduates);
v. Two recommendation letters for postgraduate applicants written in either Chinese or English by Professors or Associate Professors;
vi. Applicants for art or design-related majors must submit their own works through the system and directly to the applied universities;
vii. Applicants for Chinese-taught programmes must submit valid HSK results according to the required Chinese proficiency level. Applicants for programmes taught in other languages must submit relevant language proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL as required by the universities;
viii. Certified copy of birth certificate;
ix. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit valid legal guardian documents from China;
x. Applicants planning to stay in China for more than six months must submit a photocopy of the Foreign Physical Examination Form completed in English. The original copy should be retained by the applicant;
xi. Applicants for Master’s, Doctoral, General or Senior Scholar programmes must submit admission documents issued by the applied universities, including admission notice, pre-admission letter or invitation from professors;
xii. A valid Non-Criminal Record certificate issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within six months prior to application submission; and
xiii. A pre-admission letter from the applied university.

4.0 SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLY
Applicants are required to follow the steps below when applying through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System:

Step 1: Visit http://www.campuschina.org and click “Scholarship Application Online for International Students”. Create an account and log in;

Step 2: Fill in personal details by clicking “Edit Personal Details”, verify and save the information, then click “Finish” to proceed to the application section;

Step 3: Select the correct Program Category by choosing “Type A”;

Step 4: Enter the correct Agency Number. The Program Category is Type A and the Agency Number is 8341. Once entered correctly, the agency name will appear automatically;

Step 5: Complete the “Language Proficiency and Study Plan” section and upload all required supporting documents, then click “Submit”. Ensure all information and documents are accurate and valid. Information on available majors can be found at http://www.campuschina.org/universities/index.htm;

Step 6: Applicants may edit their application by clicking “Withdrawal” and “Edit”. After making changes, the application must be resubmitted by clicking “Submit”;

Step 7: Click “Print the Application Form” and download the completed form;

Step 8: Submit the scholarship application in accordance with the requirements of the dispatching authorities or application processing agency; and

Step 9: Send the printed application form together with all supporting documents to the address below to reach not later than Friday, 30 January 2026.

NB: Applicants are advised to use Firefox or Internet Explorer 11.0. Applications with incorrect Agency Numbers will be automatically disqualified. All application information must be completed in either Chinese or English.
