Opportunity for MUHAS Staff, Students, and Recent Graduates
Invitation to Apply for Various International Technical Practical Internships for the Year 2026
The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience () is an Association of National Committees representing academic institutions, industrial sectors, and students in higher learning institutions worldwide.
In Tanzania, IAESTE has been working in collaboration with higher learning institutions including to provide both technical and practical work experience with international organizations and companies.
This year, IAESTE in Tanzania through its office at is inviting applications from young Tanzanians, preferably recent graduates and current students from higher learning institutions, for undertaking technical international practical work experience.
MUHAS is therefore encouraging qualified staff, students, and recent graduates to apply for the following IAESTE internship opportunities for the year 2026 as listed below:

Prague, Czech Republic
Host Institution:
Field of Study: Physical Chemistry General; Chemoinformatics
Duration: 6 Weeks (September–December 2026)
Required Discipline: Biochemistry, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Mining and Mineral Engineering, Pharmaceutical Studies / Pharmacology
Required Qualifications: Thermodynamics; Microsoft Office. The candidate should be able to understand basic physical chemistry and principles of experimental thermodynamics, be familiar with MS Office tools, and have experience in laboratory work. Basic programming skills are welcome. -
Szczecin, Poland
Host Institution: (Faculty of Biotechnology & Animal Husbandry)
Field of Study: Biotechnology, Animal Science, Molecular Biology
Duration: 14 Weeks (October 2026 – January 2027)
Required Discipline: Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology
Required Qualifications: Background in Biotechnology or Animal Science; laboratory skills; ability to work in research teams; good English proficiency. -

Field of Study: Inorganic Chemistry General; Analytical Chemistry; Inorganic Chemistry
Duration: 6 Weeks (September–December 2026)
Required Discipline: Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
Required Qualifications: Research skills; Python; Chemical Processing; Material and Surface Science; Chemical Engineering. Two types of candidates are welcome to apply:- A synthetic chemist focusing on coordination chemistry, designing ligands with basic analytical techniques such as UV-Vis, FT-IR, and 1H-NMR.
- A computational chemist focusing on DFT calculations, especially on coordination compounds.

Host Institution: (Faculty of Physics, Experimental Physics)
Field of Study: Applied / Experimental Physics
Duration: 8–12 Weeks (February–December 2026)
Required Discipline: Physics and Physical Sciences
Required Qualifications: Semiconductors; Physics. Familiarity with basic principles of film materials, preferably related to energy conversion or photovoltaics. Knowledge in optics or nanostructures is beneficial. Matlab or Labview skills are appreciated. Experimental experience with material deposition is welcome.
