ANNOUNCEMENT OF JOB VACANCIES
The Director of Njombe Town Council announces to Tanzanians who possess the required qualifications to apply for six (6) job vacancies in this Council after obtaining approval from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:-
1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 6 POSITIONS
1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine the safety condition of the vehicle;
ii. To transport employees to various places on official trips;
iii. To carry out minor vehicle repairs;
iv. To collect and distribute various documents;
v. To fill and maintain records of all trips in the log book;
vi. To clean the vehicle; and
vii. To perform other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
The applicant must have Form IV education and possess a Class E or C driving license for vehicles which they have driven for a period of not less than one (1) year without causing an accident, together with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective driving classes. In addition, the applicant must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA College or any other college recognized by the Government.
1.1.3 SALARY SCALE LEVEL TGS B
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged not more than 45 years.
ii. Applicants must attach a Birth Certificate.
iii. Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (C.V) including address, reliable telephone numbers, and names of reliable referees.
iv. Applicants must attach copies of academic certificates including Form IV and Form VI certificates (for those who reached that level), and certificates of completion of various trainings relevant to the applied position, through the Ajira Portal.
v. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, and Form IV and Form VI result slips ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.
vi. Applicants for the position of Driver Grade II with Class E or C license must attach driving training certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective classes.
vii. Applicants must attach a recent passport-size photograph on the Ajira Portal.
viii. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure that their certificates are verified and authenticated by relevant authorities such as TCU, NECTA, and NACTE.
ix. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
x. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to the directives contained in Circular Ref. No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
xi. Submission of false information and qualifications will result in legal action being taken against the concerned individuals.
xii. The deadline for submitting applications is 25 February, 2026.
