ANNOUNCEMENT OF CONTRACT JOB VACANCIES

The Director of Temeke Municipal Council announces to Tanzanians with qualifications and interest in working in Temeke Municipality to apply for the positions mentioned below.

1.0 ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER GRADE II – 10 POSTS

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Diploma in Nursing from a Government-recognized College and be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council.

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Providing nursing services
ii) Collecting essential health statistics
iii) Supervising nurses under their charge
iv) Educating patients and the community about their health problems
v) Providing preventive and reproductive health services
vi) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills

2.0 HEALTH WORKER – 21 POSTS

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Must have completed Form Four and received one year of training in the health field.

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Cleaning work equipment, wards, and the environment
ii) Assisting disabled and incapacitated patients with toileting and bathing
iii) Helping feed patients who cannot feed themselves
iv) Taking patients' clothes for laundry
v) Collecting patient samples for laboratory tests and following up on results
vi) Preparing equipment for cleaning and dressing wounds
vii) Following up on patients' medicine requirements from the pharmacy store
viii) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor

3.0 RADIATION TECHNOLOGIST – 02 POSTS

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Diploma in Technology from a Government-recognized College and be registered with relevant Councils where applicable.

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Treating patients referred to the unit using correct radiation as prescribed by the Radiologist
ii) Maintaining radiotherapy machines and equipment in the work area
iii) Inspecting and managing the quality of radiation produced by radiotherapy machines
iv) Supervising staff under them
v) Providing advice on radiotherapy and radiation-related matters in the work area
vi) Preparing treatment and investigation equipment and supervising sterilization of equipment
vii) Providing initial training to staff assigned to the work area
viii) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills

4.0 PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST – 06 POSTS

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Diploma in Technology from a Government-recognized College and be registered with relevant Councils where applicable.

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Categorizing, preparing, and ordering medicine and medical supply requirements in the work area
ii) Dispensing medicines and medical supplies to patients and staff
iii) Compounding medicines
iv) Storing medicines and medical supplies
v) Inspecting medicines, medical supplies, chemicals, reagents, and cosmetics
vi) Educating the community on the proper use of medicines
vii) Reporting adverse effects resulting from medicine use
viii) Coordinating the work of the Hospital Medicine Committee
ix) Preparing reports on medicine and medical supply usage
x) Conducting quality tests for medicines, medical supplies, chemicals, reagents, and cosmetics
xi) Conducting various audits in medicine storage areas
xii) Supervising staff under them
xiii) Keeping records of medicines and medical supplies
xiv) Providing initial training to staff assigned to the work area
xv) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills

5.0 NURSE II – 34 POSTS

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Diploma in Nursing from a Government-recognized College and be registered with the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council.

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Providing nursing services
ii) Collecting essential health statistics
iii) Supervising nurses under their charge
iv) Educating patients and the community about their health problems
v) Providing preventive and reproductive health services
vi) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills

6.0 CLINICAL OFFICER – 02 POSTS

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a Form Four or Form Six graduate with a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a Government-recognized College.

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Performing all duties carried out by an Assistant Clinical Officer
ii) Identifying and treating common diseases
iii) Supervising the performance of staff under them and performing minor surgeries
iv) Participating in planning and implementing Primary Health Care services
v) Advising and mobilizing citizens to contribute to Community Health Fund services
vi) Keeping records of equipment and tools used for service provision
vii) Keeping records and preparing and submitting implementation reports
viii) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor
ix) Advising and mobilizing citizens to contribute to Community Health Fund services

7.0 ANAESTHESIA CLINICAL OFFICER – 03 POSTS

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a Form Four or Form Six graduate with a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a Government-recognized College.

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Assessing patient readiness before surgery
ii) Initiating anaesthesia in the operating theatre
iii) Monitoring patients during medical procedures
iv) Reversing anaesthesia and managing pain after surgery
v) Performing medical management duties
vi) Training and supervising junior staff

8.0 ACCOUNTANT – 01 POST

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
To be employed, one must possess one of the following qualifications:

  1. Intermediate Certificate issued by NBAA
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Commerce/Arts with specialization in Accounting or a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from any Government-recognized University or Institution
  3. Advanced Diploma in Government Accounting issued by the College of Accounting Dar es Salaam
  4. At least three years of work experience in the Accounting field

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Approving payment vouchers
ii) Preparing monthly income and expenditure reports
iii) Supervising Assistant Accountants in their daily tasks
iv) Overseeing accounting activities within the department unit
v) Preparing deficiency statements
vi) Performing duties related to financial services and client support

9.0 NURSING OFFICER II – 06 POSTS

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a Government-recognized College, completed internship training, and be registered with the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council.

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Performing nursing duties and serving clients in the community, hospitals, and all places where health services are provided
ii) Collecting essential health statistics
iii) Supervising nurses under their charge
iv) Providing home-based care to patients
v) Providing counselling services
vi) Preparing work plans for nursing services
vii) Educating patients and the community
viii) Providing preventive and reproductive health services
ix) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills

10.0 PHARMACIST – 01 POST

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from a Government-recognized College, completed one year of internship training, and be registered with the Pharmacy Council.

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Identifying annual medicine and supply requirements and preparing their budget
ii) Ordering, purchasing, storing, and distributing medicines and medical supplies at the work station
iii) Keeping medicine records
iv) Dispensing medicines and medical supplies to patients
v) Preparing the Hospital Formulary for use at the station where they work
vi) Supervising proper use of medicines
vii) Inspecting pharmacies in the private sector
viii) Compounding medicines for use at the station where they work
ix) Reporting adverse drug reactions
x) Serving as Secretary to the Hospital Therapeutic Committee
xi) Educating staff and the community on proper use of medicines
xii) Supervising implementation of the National Medicine Policy
xiii) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills

11.0 LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST – 09 POSTS

(a) EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Diploma in Technology from a Government-recognized College and be registered with relevant Councils where applicable.

Duties and Responsibilities
i) Testing laboratory samples
ii) Storing samples for further testing or referral to higher-level laboratories
iii) Conducting laboratory inspections including reagents, equipment, chemicals, and storage
iv) Keeping records of laboratory results obtained during testing
v) Teaching staff under them
vi) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS

I. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged not less than 18 years and not exceeding 45 years.
II. All applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by an Advocate/Lawyer.
III. Applicants already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to directives in Circular No. CCA.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
IV. Applicants must attach detailed CVs with reliable addresses and phone numbers, along with names of three reliable referees.
V. All applications must include professional certificates, CV, and certified copies of certificates verified by an Advocate/Lawyer including Form Four certificates, Form Six certificates (where applicable), and training certificates based on job qualifications.
VI. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of Results, Form IV and Form VI Results Slips will not be accepted.
VII. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
VIII. Applicants who retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
IX. Applicants with name discrepancies in Professional Certificates, Birth Certificates, and NIDA must attach a Deed Poll.
X. Applicants with spelling discrepancies between National ID and Professional Certificates, Form Six, Form Four, and Birth Certificates must attach an Affidavit.
XI. Applicants whose jobs require licenses must attach copies of those licenses.
XII. Applicants who submit false information and qualifications will face legal action.
