RE: ANNOUNCEMENT OF CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Medical Officer In-Charge of Katavi Regional Referral Hospital hereby invites applications from qualified Tanzanian citizens to fill various contract positions for a period of one year. The available positions are as follows:
1.0 ACCOUNTANT GRADE II – 02 POSTS
1.1 Qualifications:
Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Commerce/Business Studies with specialization in Accounting from a Government-recognized institution.
1.2 Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Participate in preparing income and expenditure reports;
b) Assist in preparing revenue reports;
c) Participate in bank reconciliation and other financial reconciliations;
d) Prepare various payroll reports;
e) Prepare payment vouchers and receipt vouchers;
f) Maintain deposit registers;
g) Perform other accounting duties assigned by the supervisor.
2.0 ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – 06 POSTS
2.1 Qualifications:
Holder of a Diploma in Accounting from a Government-recognized institution or ATEC II Certificate awarded by NBAA or equivalent qualifications recognized by NBAA.
2.2 Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Maintain recurrent and development expenditure cash books;
b) Keep payment voucher records;
c) Record income and expenditure in financial books;
d) Prepare financial reports on funds received;
e) Perform other accounting duties assigned by the supervisor.
3.0 TECHNOLOGIST GRADE II (SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR) – 01 POST
3.1 Qualifications:
Holder of an Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, Information Systems Management, or other related fields.
3.2 Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Database Administration;
b) ICT Security Management;
c) Network Administration;
d) Web and Multimedia Administration;
e) ICT Application Administration;
f) Systems Administration;
g) Computer Systems Analysis;
h) Perform other duties related to education, experience, and skills as assigned by the supervisor.
4.0 TECHNOLOGIST GRADE II (RADIOGRAPHER/RADIOLOGY) – 01 POST
4.1 Qualifications:
Holder of a three-year Diploma in Radiography/Radiology or related field from a Government-recognized institution and registered with the relevant professional board where applicable.
4.2 Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Examine patients referred to the unit;
b) Maintain radiology equipment and machines;
c) Assess X-ray images for diagnostic quality;
d) Maintain patients’ images until reports reach referring doctors;
e) Supervise subordinate staff;
f) Provide advice on radiology and radiation matters;
g) Prepare medical/diagnostic equipment and oversee sterilization processes;
h) Orient newly assigned staff;
i) Perform other duties related to education, experience, and skills as assigned by the supervisor.
5.0 MEDICAL ATTENDANT – 12 POSTS
Qualifications:
Form Four graduates who have completed one year of training in the health field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
5.1 Laundry Services – 04 Posts
a) Collect patients’ clothes for washing;
b) Sort, disinfect, machine wash, dry, iron, fold, store, and distribute laundry;
c) Report workplace challenges;
d) Maintain working equipment;
e) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
5.2 Environmental Health – 02 Posts
a) Cut grass and trim trees;
b) Plant grass, flowers, and trees when needed;
c) Water trees, flowers, and grass daily;
d) Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of greenery;
e) Be present throughout working hours;
f) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
5.3 Environmental Health – Sewer and Drain Unblocking – 01 Post
a) Unblock sewer lines and drainage channels;
b) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
5.4 Medical Oxygen Cylinder Distribution – 02 Posts
a) Fill oxygen cylinders from the oxygen generation plant;
b) Distribute oxygen cylinders where required;
c) Maintain oxygen production equipment;
d) Report any operational challenges at the oxygen plant;
e) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
5.5 Environmental Health – Incinerator Operator – 01 Post
a) Manage hazardous waste collected from service areas;
b) Incinerate waste using the incinerator;
c) Dispose of ash after incineration;
d) Submit work-related requirements on time;
e) Maintain workplace equipment;
f) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
5.6 Porter – 02 Posts
a) Transport patients unable to move independently to service points and return them afterward;
b) Deliver laboratory samples;
c) Maintain work equipment such as wheelchairs and stretchers;
d) Ensure equipment is clean at all times;
e) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
6.0 PLUMBING TECHNICIAN – 01 POST
Qualifications:
Form Four education plus Trade Test Grade III/CBET I Certificate in Plumbing from VETA or another Government-recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Draw and interpret plumbing system diagrams;
b) Estimate plumbing maintenance costs;
c) Ensure plumbing safety and cleanliness according to standards;
d) Repair and maintain plumbing systems;
e) Inspect and advise on water supply and sewerage systems;
f) Work with other employees to achieve institutional objectives;
g) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
7.0 ASSISTANT INFORMATION OFFICER GRADE II – 01 POST
Qualifications:
Form Four or Form Six education plus a Diploma in Journalism/Information Studies from a Government-recognized institution, with at least one year of experience in the media sector and computer skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Gather and write news stories;
b) Take photographs at hospital events;
c) Take exhibition photographs;
d) Store photographs and maintain a reference library;
e) Prepare magazines, brochures, and posters;
f) Produce institutional documentaries;
g) Manage and update hospital social media platforms;
h) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
8.0 CUSTOMER CARE OFFICER – 06 POSTS
Qualifications:
Form Four or Form Six education plus a Diploma with Customer Service and Computer Studies from a Government-recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Direct clients to appropriate service areas according to their needs;
b) Register all clients seeking medical services;
c) Provide feedback to clients and handle complaints by forwarding them to relevant departments for resolution;
d) Ensure clients pay for services according to existing guidelines;
e) Maintain confidential customer records and information;
f) Collect customer feedback and submit it for action;
g) Provide customer service according to established standards;
h) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
9.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 02 POSTS
Qualifications:
Holder of Form Four Certificate with Class E and C or Class C driving license and at least one year of accident-free driving experience. Must have attended vocational training (VETA) or another Government-recognized institution. Applicants with Grade II Trade Test Certificates will be given priority.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Inspect vehicles before and after journeys to ensure safety;
b) Transport staff on official duties;
c) Perform minor vehicle maintenance;
d) Collect and distribute documents;
e) Record and maintain all travel details in the logbook;
f) Keep the vehicle clean;
g) Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS
- Salary scale for each position shall follow the National Guideline issued on 24 December 2025 regarding engagement of volunteer staff in health cadres.
- Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
- Applicants must attach copies of secondary school and professional certificates relevant to the advertised position.

- Applicants must attach copies of recommendation letters from referees together with copies of their NIDA identification cards.
- Applicants must be ready to work and be transferred according to the employer’s needs.
- Applicants must be neat and possess high discipline.
- Applicants whose professions require registration with professional boards must attach registration certificates and valid practicing licenses where applicable.
