JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Tanganyika Instant Coffee Public Limited Company (TANICA), based in Bukoba Municipality, Kagera Region, has been a leading producer of instant coffee in Tanzania since 1963. TANICA invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions:

1. SALES AND MARKETING OFFICER

Locations: Bukoba (1), Mwanza (1), Arusha (1), Dar es Salaam (1)
Number of Positions: 4

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out sales, marketing, and clerical support activities within the department and sales centers.
  • Collect and analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market information regarding company products.
  • Identify and secure sales orders from customers and support revenue generation activities.
  • Provide after-sales services and maintain customer relationships, including visits to supermarkets, hotels, and other clients.
  • Support data collection and market research activities as required.
  • Ensure timely banking of daily sales in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prepare and submit sales activity reports to the immediate supervisor.
  • Perform any other lawful duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in sales and marketing.

2. SALES CUM DRIVER

Number of Positions: 1

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport products and materials safely to customers and designated locations.
  • Ensure the safety and security of products and staff during transportation.
  • Respond to customer inquiries during mobile sales and marketing activities.
  • Ensure timely transportation of staff and materials as instructed.
  • Keep the company vehicle clean and well-maintained through regular washing and servicing.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Report accidents, damages, or mechanical issues to the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain records of vehicle maintenance, fuel, parking charges, and security.
  • Keep an accurate travel logbook indicating destinations, travel time, and working hours.
  • Perform any other lawful duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Form Four Certificate.
  • Driving Certificate from a recognized training institution.
  • Certificate in any business-related field.
  • Valid Class "E" Driving License.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of accident-free driving experience.

3. MACHINE OPERATORS

Number of Positions: 3

  • Electrical Installation/Industrial Electrical – 1 Position
  • Auto Electric – 1 Position
  • Boiler Operations – 1 Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and clean machines before production begins.
  • Monitor and control machine performance and operating settings.
  • Conduct regular machine performance and capacity tests.
  • Feed raw materials into production machines.
  • Monitor product output to identify defects or machine-related issues.
  • Detect and resolve machine malfunctions during production.
  • Maintain updated records of machine information, defective units, and production outputs for each shift.
  • Maintain production logs and submit performance reports.
  • Perform any other lawful duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Form Four Certificate.
  • Certificate Level III/Grade I from a recognized Vocational Training Institute in Electrical Installation/Industrial Electrical, Auto Electric, or Boiler Operations.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in the respective field.

4. LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Number of Positions: 2

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine laboratory tests, including moisture content analysis, bulk density determination, cleanliness testing, and other quality control examinations.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, test results, and analytical reports.
  • Verify product weights, packaging standards, and labeling requirements.
  • Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with established standards and specifications.
  • Measure and assess machine performance related to product quality.
  • Assist in sampling raw materials, work-in-progress products, and finished products.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Report quality deviations and laboratory findings to the Quality Controller.
  • Perform any other lawful duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Food Science and Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in the food processing industry.

5. ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL)

Number of Positions: 1

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery, equipment, buildings, and utility systems.
  • Optimize production efficiency through proper adjustment and monitoring of machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain equipment maintenance records and logs.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support engineering projects and maintenance programs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Perform any other lawful duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in mechanical engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
