JOB OVERVIEW
Jhpiego is seeking a qualified and experienced Human Resources Officer to join its team in Tanzania.
The Human Resources Officer will support the effective delivery of human resource services and functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, HR administration, staff welfare, compliance, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead recruitment processes, including requisitions, advertising, application screening, interviews, selection and reference checks.
- Coordinate orientation and onboarding of newly recruited staff.
- Monitor and administer staff benefits.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Monitor performance management processes.
- Administer HR policies and address staff grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Support staff welfare initiatives, retreats and meetings.
- Follow up on documentation required for HR processes.
- Oversee medical and group life insurance.
- Support HR information systems and online platforms.
- Oversee engagement of consultants and personnel under specific task agreements.
- Coordinate staff onboarding, transition and exit processes.
- Assist the HR Director in ensuring smooth operation of the HR office.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources Management.
- Minimum of 5–6 years of post-qualification experience in a Human Resources management position, preferably within a reputable NGO or development organization.
- Good knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws.
- Strong computer skills and experience using Human Resources Information Systems.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
