Job Purpose

The Lab Technician will provide laboratory support across the value chain by performing laboratory analyses, quality checks, and verifications to ensure the production of high-quality and safe products that meet AB InBev quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Performance

  • Meet all quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Prevent quality non-conformances.
  • Promote quality awareness throughout the site.
  • Support continuous improvement of quality performance.
  • Foster a strong quality culture.

Laboratory Operations

  • Prepare samples for analysis.
  • Conduct laboratory analyses using approved methods.
  • Record, verify, and report accurate laboratory results.
  • Escalate non-conforming results according to established procedures.
  • Carry out specialized quality analyses when required.
  • Support production teams with laboratory investigations and troubleshooting.

Equipment Management

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure calibration schedules are followed.
  • Keep calibration records accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare laboratory equipment, reagents, and apparatus for testing.

Process Control

  • Conduct sampling according to standard procedures.
  • Handle and identify samples correctly to maintain integrity.
  • Prepare and dispatch samples where necessary.
  • Follow out-of-control procedures whenever required.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards.

Food Safety and Compliance

  • Execute activities in accordance with VPO Quality Pillar requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality management systems.
  • Participate in quality audits and process improvement initiatives.

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Comply with PPE requirements.
  • Handle chemicals and laboratory reagents safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory.
  • Report unsafe conditions and workplace incidents.
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures at all times.

Training and Continuous Improvement

  • Support training of production teams on laboratory techniques.
  • Assist with coaching in quality analysis and problem-solving.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Laboratory Science, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Process and Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
