VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
On behalf of The Catholic Diocese of Mbulu, Bishop Nicodemus Hhando College of Health Sciences (BNHCHS) invites highly motivated, results oriented, self-driven professionals with integrity and sustainably qualified Tanzanians to fill six (06) vacant posts mentioned below.
1.0 TUTOR – II (MEDICAL DOCTOR) – 3 POSTS
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To teach Clinical Medicine students NTA Level 4 up to NTA Level 6.
ii. To conduct tutorials, seminars and practical exercises for students under close supervision of a tutor.
iii. To prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises.
iv. To supervise students during their operational research project.
v. To supervise students during their community fieldwork and clinical rotation at practicum sites.
vi. To carry out consultancy and community service as part of continuous professional development.
vii. To set and participate in moderation, printing, invigilation, marking of students’ examination scripts and provide constructive feedbacks to students.
viii. To ensure students comply with the disciplinary code for students of health training institutions.
ix. To perform any other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
1.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Bachelor degree in Medical Doctor (MD) or Equivalent Qualification from institutions recognized by the government who have completed internship training and fully registered by the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT) with valid practicing license.
Participation in teaching methodology for TVET institutions and/or working experience of more than one year in TVET institutions will be an added advantage.
1.3 SALARY SCALE
Attractive remuneration according to BNHCHS salary scale.
2.0 TUTOR – II (HEALTH LABORATORY SCIENTIST-II) – 2 POSTS
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To teach Medical Laboratory Students NTA Level 4 up to NTA Level 6.
ii. To conduct tutorials, seminars and practical exercises for students under close supervision of a tutor.
iii. To prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises.
iv. To supervise students during their operational research project.
v. To supervise students during their community fieldwork and clinical rotation at practicum sites.
vi. To carry out consultancy and community service as part of continuous professional development.

Holder of Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences (BMLS) or Equivalent Qualification from institutions recognized by the government who have completed internship training and fully registered by the Health Laboratory Practitioners’ Council (HLPC) with valid practicing license.
Participation in teaching methodology for TVET institutions and/or working experience of more than one year in TVET institutions will be an added advantage.
2.3 SALARY SCALE
Attractive remuneration according to BNHCHS salary scale.
3.0 ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN – 1 POST
3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Managing the counter operations for checking books and learning materials in and out to students and staff.
ii. Registering new students and staff into the library system and managing membership records.
iii. Guiding students on how to locate physical textbooks, reference materials, and basic electronic health database terminals.
iv. Assisting in sorting, accessioning, labeling, and shelving incoming textbooks according to standard classification schemes.
v. Maintaining orderly stacks, shelf-reading, and ensuring books are returned to their designated places promptly.
vi. Performing minor repairs on heavily used textbooks, journals, and other learning materials.
vii. Receiving, stamping, and organizing journals, bulletins and newsletters.
viii. Compiling daily, weekly, and monthly statistics on library attendance, book circulation rates, and resource utilization.
ix. Assisting college administration with inventory checks, stock-taking exercises, and executing other routine tasks assigned by the college principal.
x. To perform any other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
3.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Technician certificate (NTA Level 5) in Library Services or above level (NTA Level 6) in Library Services or equivalent qualifications from institution recognized by the government.
A membership in Tanzania Library and Information Association (TLIA) will be an added advantage.
3.3 SALARY SCALE
Attractive remuneration according to BNHCHS salary scale.
