Jema Africa Limited is a reputable company committed to operational excellence across industrial and heavy equipment sectors. We are currently seeking qualified, experienced, and dedicated professionals to fill the following positions:
1. STOREKEEPER
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Storekeeper to support our operations team in managing inventory, receiving and issuing stock, maintaining accurate stock records, and ensuring proper storage and availability of materials and supplies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials and verify them against relevant documents.
- Properly store, label, and organize all inventory items.
- Issue materials and spare parts against authorized requisitions.
- Maintain accurate stock records in the inventory system.
- Conduct regular stock counts and report any discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and prevent shortages of critical items.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure store environment.
- Coordinate with Procurement and end users to ensure the timely availability of essential materials used.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Diploma or Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management, Materials Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- At least 1–3 years of experience in storekeeping or inventory management.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, with experience in SAP, ERP, or other inventory management systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate stock records, conduct stock counts, reconcile discrepancies, and prepare inventory reports.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment and safely handle materials and equipment when required.
- Strong attention to detail, honesty, teamwork, and communication.
2. HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC/TECHNICIAN
The Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic/Technician will be responsible for maintenance, diagnostics, repair and troubleshooting on excavator machines (hydraulic and mechanical systems). Will ensure machines are safe, reliable and compliant with company procedures and manufacturer standards, including preventive maintenance schedules and breakdown repairs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all site/workshop HSE rules and company procedures at all times.
- Ensure safe work on equipment, keep tools and work areas organized to prevent trips and falls.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately and stop work when required.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on excavators (engine, cooling, diagnostic and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and related system faults to restore safe operation).
- Inspect tracks/undercarriage components (rollers, idlers, sprockets) and ensure proper alignment, tension and wear replacement.
- Carry out hydraulic hose, coupler, cylinder work and leak tracing repair.
- Service and troubleshoot engine and basic electrical related issues affecting performance and operation.
- Complete service reports, and accurate service records; report machine condition and parts requirements.
- Ensure repairs are tested and verified and machine is released back to operations in a safe working condition.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Trade qualification / diploma or certification in heavy mobile equipment mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience servicing excavators (or heavy mobile equipment).
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulic fundamentals and track/undercarriage maintenance.
- Proficient with hand tools and workshop equipment.
- Ability to read manufacturer service manuals and technical documents.
3. AUTOMOBILE ELECTRICIAN
The Automobile Electrician will diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems on trucks, excavators, heavy equipment, and generators. Will troubleshoot faults, install and test electrical components, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure all work meets safety and manufacturer standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with all electrical safety procedures at all times and use correct PPE (insulated tools, gloves, safety boots, eye protection, etc.) before starting any electrical work.
- Diagnose electrical faults in trucks, excavators, and power generator systems (starting, charging, lighting, sensors, control).
- Test batteries, alternators, starters, relays, fuses, circuit breakers, sensors and wiring harnesses.
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, connectors, terminals and electrical components.
- Install/replace electrical components including starter, alternator systems, batteries, lighting systems, generator control systems, protection devices, wiring harness and control panel wiring.
- Perform routine electrical preventive maintenance and inspection.
- Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
- Ensure correct wiring color, polarity, correct pin alignment, and secure harness routing.
- Maintain service reports and maintenance logs.
- Use correct tools and follow safe handling for electrical parts.
- Ensure repairs are tested and quality checked before equipment release.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Trade qualification / diploma or certification in automobile or heavy equipment electrical systems.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with electrical systems on heavy vehicles (trucks/excavators) and power generators.
- Knowledge of 12V/24V DC electrical systems, relays, sensors, switches and generator control and protection components.
- Ability to use testing tools: Multimeter, continuity tester, test light, battery/alternator testing tools etc.
