About the Role
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all production equipment, machinery, and facilities are maintained safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. The role supports smooth plant operations by minimizing downtime, improving equipment performance, leading maintenance teams, planning preventive and corrective maintenance activities, managing maintenance budgets, and driving operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all plant machinery, production lines, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Establish maintenance schedules that minimize production disruptions and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.
- Lead and manage the maintenance team, including technicians, engineers, and support staff.
- Supervise maintenance and repair of production equipment such as crushers, mills, kilns, conveyors, mixers, and packaging machinery.
- Ensure timely maintenance and repairs to prevent unplanned downtime and maximize production capacity.
- Ensure proper operation of electrical systems, compressed air systems, and hydraulic equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and reduce energy consumption.
- Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials.
- Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment and facilities.
- Investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and technical documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Maintenance Engineering.
- At least 5 years of maintenance experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a team leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in computer software and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of engineering principles and industrial maintenance practices.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance systems and asset management.
- Experience managing plant equipment, facility systems, and contractors.
- Good understanding of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
