TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR INDEPENDENT STRUCTURAL DESIGN VERIFICATION AND CERTIFICATION OF THE PROPOSED HEADFRAME
Matongo Gold Mine Ltd. (MGM) invites suitably qualified and professionally registered Structural Engineers / Engineering Consultants to submit proposals for the independent verification and certification of a proposed headframe structural design prior to fabrication and erection.
The objective of the assignment is to undertake an independent technical review, verification and professional certification of the structural design of the proposed headframe to confirm that the design is structurally adequate, fit for its intended purpose, and compliant with applicable engineering standards and statutory requirements prior to fabrication and erection.

SCOPE OF WORK
The Consultant shall:
- Review the headframe design, drawings, structural calculations and FEA/simulation results.
- Verify design loads, load combinations, structural members, connections, supports and applicable safety factors.
- Confirm compliance with relevant engineering standards and requirements.
- Identify any required design modifications or corrective actions.
- Provide professional signed and stamped engineering certification/sign-off upon satisfactory verification.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Legally registered engineering consultant/firm with a professionally registered Structural Engineer.
- Demonstrated experience in verification/certification of heavy steel or mining structures.
- Experience with headframes and hoisting structures will be an advantage.
DELIVERABLES
The Consultant shall submit:
- A structural design verification/review report.
- A schedule of comments, observations and required corrective actions, where applicable.
- Confirmation of the design codes and standards used for verification.
- Confirmation of the documents and calculations reviewed.
- Final signed and professionally stamped structural design verification/certification.
- Confirmation of whether the design is acceptable to proceed to fabrication and erection.

- Proposed methodology and completion period.
