PLANNING MANAGER
Mbeya Cement Company Limited, a member of Amsons Group, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Planning Manager based at the Mbeya Plant under a permanent employment contract. The reporting line for the position is to the Head of Engineering.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Develop and implement long-term maintenance plans that align with the organization's goals and focus on improving equipment reliability.
b) Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance planners, setting clear targets and promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.
c) Reading, understanding and translating technical equipment manuals into processes required for Asset management (inspection, lubrication, preventive maintenance-mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, electronics, HSE, etc).
d) Liaise with operations, engineering, and other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to production.
e) Analyse maintenance data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and equipment history to identify trends, perform root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring issues, and justify improvements.
f) Manage and optimize the use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for planning, scheduling, improvement and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in cement manufacturing/extractive industries.
TECHNICAL/BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
a) Demonstrated competence and experience in leading and managing teams for a minimum of five years.
b) Strong knowledge of projects management.
c) Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and motor circuits.
d) Knowledge of gearboxes, transmission, welding technical, lubrication, non-destructive testing.
e) Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015).
f) Knowledge on budgeting, cost analysis and tracking.
g) Proficiency in MS Office applications.
