VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ANNOUNCEMENT
Manyara Regional Referral Hospital, through the Ministry of Health, announces volunteer opportunities for the following cadres:
- ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER GRADE II – 8 POSTS
Qualifications:
a) The applicant must possess a Diploma in Nursing from a Government-recognized institution.
b) Must be registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Providing nursing services.
ii. Collecting essential health data.
iii. Supervising and directing subordinate nurses in their duties.
iv. Educating patients and the community.
v. Providing preventive and reproductive health services.
vi. Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor related to the applicant’s education, experience and skills.
- HEALTH ASSISTANT – 5 POSTS
Qualifications:
The applicant must have completed Form Four education and obtained one year of training in the health field, specifically Community Health, from a Government-recognized institution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Cleaning work equipment, wards and the surrounding environment.
ii. Assisting patients with disabilities and those who are unable to care for themselves.
iii. Assisting patients who are unable to feed themselves.
iv. Collecting patients’ clothes and taking them for laundry.
v. Collecting patient samples for laboratory investigations and following up on the results.
vi. Preparing equipment for cleaning and dressing wounds.
vii. Following up on patients’ medication requirements from the drug store.
viii. Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- HEALTH RECORDS OFFICERS – 2 POSTS
Qualifications:
The applicant must have completed Form Four education and possess a Certificate or Diploma, with training in Health Records Management from a Government-recognized institution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Registering attendance of outpatients and inpatients.
ii. Filing all records of registered patients.
iii. Preparing and issuing patient cards.
iv. Receiving patients referred from other health facilities.
v. Collecting all inpatient and outpatient records.
vi. Analyzing, updating and arranging records of discharged patients in file racks/shelves, etc.
vii. Controlling the system of computer-generated records, maintaining them and managing their use.
- DRIVER GRADE II – 2 POSTS
Qualifications:
a) The applicant must possess a Form Four Certificate of Education.
b) Must possess a Class E or C driving licence and have at least one year of driving experience without causing an accident.
c) Must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) or another Government-recognized institution.
d) Must be aged between 18 and 45 years.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Carrying out vehicle maintenance.
ii. Inspecting the vehicle before and after journeys to determine its safety condition.
iii. Transporting staff to various locations on official duties.
iv. Collecting and distributing various documents.
v. Recording and maintaining details of all journeys in the journey logbook.
vi. Cleaning the vehicle.
vii. Performing any other duties as directed by supervisors.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL APPLICANTS
i. The applicant must be a Tanzanian citizen.
ii. The applicant must possess a Form Four Certificate of Education.
iii. All application letters must be accompanied by copies of educational and professional certificates, birth certificate and two recent passport-size coloured photographs.
iv. The applicant must attach a Curriculum Vitae (CV).
v. The applicant must have computer skills, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
vi. Must be aged between 18 and 45 years.
vii. “Testimonials result slips” WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
viii. The applicant must have good conduct and discipline and must not have been convicted of a criminal offence by a court or imprisoned.
ix. Copies of certificates must be certified by an Advocate/Notary or Magistrate.
x. Payment will be made in accordance with the 2025 Public Service Volunteer Guidelines.
(Experience in the relevant profession/cadre will be given priority.)
