ANNOUNCEMENT OF FIFTEEN (15) TEMPORARY POSITIONS FOR SIX MONTHS AS REVENUE COLLECTORS
The Buchosa District Council Director is announcing fifteen (15) temporary positions for six months for revenue collectors. The contract for these positions will run from October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, for the 2025/2026 financial year. Revenue will be collected from various sources as per the approved contracts and will continue until the positions become permanent after evaluation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Collect revenue from all designated sources.
* Deposit all collected revenue into the bank on the same day.
* Ensure that the revenue collection machine (POS MACHINE) is used properly to issue a valid receipt from the Council.
* Ensure that the revenue collection machine (POS MACHINE) is in good working condition at all times and is always connected to the internet (ONLINE).
* Ensure that the revenue collector uses the Legal Scale entrusted to him by the Council to weigh goods (Fish, etc., to calculate the appropriate tax, etc.).
* Ensure that the customer receives their receipt for the goods they paid for without any handwritten modifications.
* Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS:
* Must be a Tanzanian citizen and not a permanent employee of the Buchosa District Council.
* Must have a NIDA identification card.
* Must have a diploma, certificate, or equivalent.
* Must have the ability to use a smartphone effectively.
* Applicants must be residents of the areas where they will be working.
* Applicants are required to attach a passport-sized photograph with a light background.
* Applicants will undergo a physical assessment to determine their suitability for collecting revenue from various sources for the Buchosa District Council.
* Applications must be handwritten and attached with the necessary documents, such as a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) from the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), a copy of your National ID or a National Identification Number (NIDA), and an updated resume.
* Applicants must not have any outstanding debts with the Buchosa District Council from previous contracts or temporary positions.
* All applications should be sent to the District Executive Director (Mkuu wa Wilaya) or the Human Resources Officer.
* The application letter must be written with the name of the applicant and not another person's name.
* Application letters should have all necessary attachments.
* If it is found that you collected revenue using the scale provided to you by the Council to measure the goods you collect taxes from and you did not use the Legal Scale you are entrusted with, you will lose your eligibility to continue with the revenue collection work.
TERMS FOR APPLICANTS FOR THIS JOB:
i. Must have registered with TRA and have a TIN.
ii. Must be between 18 and 45 years of age.
iii. Must be able to read and write fluently in English or Swahili.
iv. Must be honest, disciplined, and mature.
v. Must not have any criminal record.
vi. Applicants must not have any outstanding debts with the Buchosa District Council from previous contracts or temporary positions (TAUSI from LGRCIS) as revenue collectors who were previously employed by the Buchosa District Council.
vii. Applications should be submitted to Mr. Mtendaji and his team.
viii. The application letter should have the name of the applicant and not another person's name.
ix. For those who were collecting revenue in the past, if it is found that you did not use the Legal Scale entrusted to you by the Council to measure the goods from which you collect taxes, you will not have the opportunity to continue with the revenue collection work (YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM ELIGIBILITY ONE BY ONE).
