JOB ADVERTISEMENT
The Executive Director of the Rungwe District Council announces job vacancies for eleven (11) qualified Tanzanians. This follows approval from the President's Office, Public Service Management, and Good Governance.

1.0 DRIVER II - 4 POSITIONS
1.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To inspect the vehicle before and after a trip to ensure its safety.
  • To transport employees to various work locations during work trips.
  • To perform minor vehicle maintenance.
  • To clean the vehicle.
  • To maintain and fill out the logbook for all trips.
  • To collect and distribute various documents.
  • To perform other duties as instructed by their supervisor.
    1.1.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a Form Four (IV) certificate and a Class 'C' or 'E' driving license.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of accident-free driving experience.
  • Must have completed a basic driving course from the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) or another government-recognized institution.
    1.1.3 SALARY SCALE
  • In accordance with the Government Salary Scale TGS - B.

1.2 OFFICE SECRETARY II - 3 POSITIONS
1.2.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To type ordinary and confidential letters, reports, and documents.
  • To receive and assist visitors by directing them to the relevant department.
  • To manage records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, the supervisor's travel schedule, and other work schedules.
  • To retrieve files and documents required for work duties.
  • To receive and distribute files to officers in the relevant department/unit/section.
  • To collect, maintain, and return files and documents to their respective locations.
  • To prepare notes and make arrangements for various meetings.
  • To prepare a list of office supply needs.
    1.2.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) examination certificate.
  • Must hold a Diploma (Stashahada) in Secretarial Studies or a Certificate of NTA level 6 in secretarial studies from a government-recognized college.
  • Must be proficient in Swahili and English shorthand at 100 words per minute.
  • Must be proficient in office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher.
    1.2.3 SALARY SCALE
  • In accordance with the Government Salary Scale TGS - C.

1.3 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II - 4 POSITIONS
1.3.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To register incoming correspondence.
  • To register outgoing correspondence.
  • To distribute files to action officers.
  • To receive files back from action officers.
  • To retrieve records/documents/files needed by action officers.
  • To return files to their proper places, such as shelves or filing cabinets.
  • To track file circulation within the institution.
    1.3.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) examination certificate.
  • Must have completed a Diploma/NTA level 6 training in Records Management from a government-recognized college.
  • Must have computer skills.
    1.3.3 SALARY SCALE
  • In accordance with the Government Salary Scale TGS - C.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS

  • Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens between 18 and 45 years old, except for those currently employed by the government.

  • Applicants who have retired from public service are not allowed to apply unless they have a permit from the Chief Secretary.
  • Driver II applicants with a Class 'E' or 'C' license must attach the driving course certificates that qualified them for the respective classes.
  • Public servants who are already employed in entry-level positions should not apply and must adhere to Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 of November 30, 2010.
  • Applicants who submit fraudulent information or qualifications will face legal action.
  • Interviewees whose names differ on their documents must provide a Deed Poll affidavit registered with the Ministry of Lands.
  • The deadline for applications is October 1, 2025.
