- Scholarship Value: R190,000 per annum, covering accommodation, living costs, tuition fees, medical aid (2027–2028), and books/stationery.

- Duration: Maximum of three academic years, with possible extension under exceptional circumstances.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of a Commonwealth country (excluding South Africa).
- Intend to commence doctoral studies at the University of Pretoria in 2026.
- Have applied for admission to UP and identified a potential supervisor.
- Hold a Master’s degree completed at least two years prior to 2026.
- Be under 38 years of age at the time of application.
- Submit academic qualifications for evaluation by SAQA (www.saqa.org.za).
Selection Criteria
Awards will be based on:
- Academic performance and research potential.
- Leadership qualities and research accomplishments (e.g., publications, awards).
- Supervisor endorsement and proposed research outline.
