JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The City Institute of Health – Dar es Salaam invites qualified and competent individuals to apply for the following positions:

1. Medical Doctors (5 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide clinical diagnosis and treatment to students and staff.
  2. Conduct medical examinations and maintain patient health records.
  3. Offer medical advice, health education, and preventive healthcare services.
  4. Participate in planning and implementing health-related programs.
  5. Ensure timely referral of patients requiring specialized care.
  6. Support emergency response and first-aid services within the institution.
  7. Prepare medical reports and ensure compliance with professional standards.

2. Radiographers (4 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operate imaging machines to produce diagnostic radiographs.
  2. Prepare patients for radiological procedures and ensure safety standards.
  3. Maintain imaging equipment and report technical problems.
  4. Keep accurate records of radiological procedures conducted.
  5. Collaborate with clinicians to provide accurate diagnostic images.
  6. Ensure radiation protection protocols are followed.
  7. Assist in training and guiding students during practical sessions.

3. Optometrists (5 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform eye examinations and assess visual health.
  2. Prescribe corrective lenses and fit optical devices.
  3. Diagnose eye disorders and provide appropriate management.
  4. Maintain patient eye health records and reports.
  5. Educate patients on proper eye care and preventive measures.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals on vision-related issues.
  7. Provide support during practical training for optometry students.

4. Physiotherapists (5 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assess patients’ physical conditions and develop treatment plans.
  2. Provide therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation services.
  3. Maintain physiotherapy equipment and ensure safe usage.
  4. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary.
  5. Educate patients on physical wellness and injury prevention.
  6. Keep accurate treatment records and reports.
  7. Assist in teaching practical physiotherapy skills to students.

5. Pharmacists (5 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Dispense medications accurately and provide drug-related guidance.
  2. Maintain and update pharmaceutical records and inventories.
  3. Ensure safe storage and handling of medicines.
  4. Offer counselling to patients on proper medication use.
  5. Monitor and report adverse drug reactions.
  6. Support institutional health programs through pharmaceutical expertise.
  7. Train students during pharmaceutical practical sessions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • Valid professional registration and practising licence from the respective Council/Board.
  • Experience will be an added advantage.
