Position: Investigator
Department: RISK AND SECURITY
Office Location: Moshi - Kilimanjaro
Reporting To: Security Investigation Officer
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Responsible for investigating crimes such as burglaries, homicides, assaults, and other incidents to implicate perpetrators. Collects evidence, interviews witnesses, and testifies in court.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
1. Investigate criminal acts such as homicides, sexual assaults, armed robberies, home invasions, and property crimes such as burglaries.
2. Interview informants, suspects, and witnesses to ascertain alibis, clues, time frames, and possible suspects.
3. Maintain thorough and accurate records of investigations, evidence, and case files.
4. Collect enough evidence to support a court case against a criminal.
5. Investigate and document crime scenes, collecting and preserving physical evidence.
6. Write detailed reports summarizing findings, evidence, and investigative actions.
7. Explain to the jury the significance of evidence as it relates to proof.
8. Secure legal authorization to search properties or seize evidence by obtaining search warrants.
9. Monitor suspects through surveillance techniques, such as watching, recording, or tracking their movements.
10. Exchange information and coordinate activities with other departments.
11. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of federal and state statutes and court cases related to work performed and agency rules and regulations.
12. Maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive cases.
13. Record physical information about suspects.
14. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his or her Superior
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Formal secondary education to an advanced level.
2. Certificate or Diploma in Criminology, Law, Security Studies, or any other related field.
3. A Valid Tanzania Driving License
WORK EXPERIENCE:
1. Previous professional experience with investigatory procedures and practice.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in the industry setting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili.
2. Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office
