JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. is recruiting for multiple positions for the NextGen Ugavi Bora, Afya Bora Project in Tanzania. The application deadline for all positions is 12/05/2025.

  1. Capacity Strengthening Advisors (2 Positions)

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Salary Range: 51,184,949 - 66,118,763 TZS

Position Summary:
The Capacity Strengthening Advisor will provide hands-on technical leadership, mentorship, and systems support to strengthen supply chain management, pharmaceutical services, data use, and workforce capacity at sub-national levels. This role serves as a technical bridge between various health supply chain stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
· Provide technical assistance on commodity management at regional, council, and health facility levels.
· Support bottom-up quantification and integration into national supply plans.
· Strengthen the use of eLMIS, DHIS2, and related tools for accurate and timely reporting.
· Guide health facilities on rational use of medicines, antimicrobial resistance, and pharmacovigilance.
· Support data collection, validation, analysis, and use for decision-making.
· Implement capacity-building initiatives and provide on-the-job mentorship.
· Identify systemic bottlenecks and facilitate participatory problem-solving.

Qualifications:
· Degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
· At least 5 years of experience in public health commodity supply chain management, pharmaceutical management, or health systems strengthening.
· Demonstrated expertise in eLMIS, DHIS2, and BUQ.
· Experience in capacity building, mentorship, and working with MOH and PORALG programs.
· Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and computer skills.

  1. Health Logistics and Data Management Officer

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Salary Range: 40,248,365 - 51,915,407 TZS

Position Summary:
The Logistics and Data Management Officer will provide technical support in logistic data management, analysis, and use for supply chain and pharmaceutical performance improvement in Zanzibar.

Key Responsibilities:
· Support the implementation of health commodities work plans aligned with RGOZ strategies.
· Improve data use and quality from eLMIS, mSupply, and other information systems.
· Use performance data to guide supportive supervision and address logistics challenges.
· Compile, analyze, and disseminate routine reports on supply chain activities.
· Review and process facility R&R forms, identifying errors and providing feedback.
· Monitor stock status and report risks of stock-outs or overstocks.
· Identify training needs and support capacity-building initiatives.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Health Management, Pharmacy, or a related field.
· At least 3 years of professional experience in logistics information systems, data management, or supply chain management.
· Experience in Zanzibar’s health sector and familiarity with CMS and ZHMTs is preferred.
· Proficiency in eLMIS, mSupply, or similar health logistics systems.
· Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
· Fluency in Kiswahili and English.

  1. IT Administrator

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Salary Range: 40,248,365 - 51,915,407 TZS

Position Summary:
The IT Administrator will be responsible for providing comprehensive IT support, managing server infrastructure, and ensuring the stability and security of JSI's systems in Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities:
· Perform desktop and laptop computer support, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
· Design and maintain critical infrastructure for JSI systems.
· Manage Linux server administration, including upgrades, patches, and security.
· Ensure stable office internet connectivity and successful file server backups.
· Maintain inventory of all equipment and software.
· Provide technical support for major outages and system failures.
· Implement and manage disaster recovery plans and cybersecurity protocols.

Qualifications:
· A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
· At least four years of experience managing multiple Linux servers.
· Demonstrable expertise in securing Linux servers and troubleshooting.
· Fluency in English.

  1. Technical Advisor, Workforce Development - Zanzibar

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Salary Range: 51,184,949 - 66,118,763 TZS

Position Summary:
The Technical Advisor will provide hands-on technical leadership and capacity strengthening to improve supply chain management, pharmaceutical services, data use, and workforce performance across Zanzibar.

Key Responsibilities:
· Provide technical assistance on supply chain management to ensure commodity availability.
· Strengthen the use of eLMIS, DHIS2, and related systems for data reporting.
· Support the operationalization of bottom-up quantification.
· Strengthen pharmaceutical management systems, including rational medicine use and pharmacovigilance.
· Provide technical leadership for all workforce-related interventions in Zanzibar.
· Build capacity through mentorship, coaching, and peer-learning platforms.
· Strengthen the capacity of local institutions to use data for decision-making.
· Serve as the key focal point for coordinating project interventions in Zanzibar.

Qualifications:
· Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
· Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in public health supply chain or pharmaceutical management.
· Demonstrated experience working with the Government of Zanzibar and other health sector stakeholders.
· Strong technical knowledge of eLMIS and DHIS2.
· Proven ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder initiatives and lead technical teams.
· Experience in capacity building and adult learning approaches.
· Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
