JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Executive Director of Uvinza District Council announces to qualified Tanzanians the opportunity to apply for seven (07) job vacancies in this Council, after obtaining permission from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance for the following positions;

1. DRIVER GRADE II - 04 POSTS: RE-ADVERTISED

1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety condition;
ii. To transport staff to various locations on official trips;
iii. To perform minor vehicle repairs;
iv. To fill out and maintain records of all trips in the log book;
v. To collect and deliver various documents; and
vi. To clean the vehicle;

1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

To be employed, one must have a Form IV certificate and a Class E or C driving license, with at least one year of driving experience without causing an accident, along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective license classes. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA College or another Government-recognized institution.

2. OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II - 03 POSTS: RE-ADVERTISED

2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To type letters, reports, and routine and confidential documents
ii. To receive guests and inquire about their issues, and direct them to the sections where they can be assisted
iii. To maintain records of events, meetings, guests, meeting dates, trips of the Supervisor, and schedules of other tasks
iv. To search for files and documents needed for the execution of work duties
v. To receive files and distribute them to Officers in the relevant Department/Unit/Section
vi. To collect, maintain, and return files and documents to the relevant sections
vii. To arrange extracts and make preparations for various meetings
viii. To prepare a list of requirements for office equipment
ix. To perform any other duties as assigned by his/her Supervisor

2.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

To be employed, one must be a Form IV or Form VI graduate, with a Diploma or certificate (NTA Level 6) in the field of Secretarial Studies. Furthermore, they must have passed a Shorthand subject in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute and obtained office computer programs such as; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from any institution recognized by the Government.

2.3 SALARY LEVEL TGS C

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian Citizens aged between 18 and 45 years
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify in the job application system the type of Disability they have for information to the Secretary of Employment in the Public Service
iii. Applicants must attach a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (Detailed C.V) with a reliable address and telephone numbers together with the names of reliable referees
iv. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of Academic and Professional Certificates by a Magistrate/Lawyer which are Form Four/Six certificates for those who reached that level and certificates of completion of various trainings according to the requirements of the specific job. Diploma/Certificate, Form IV and Form VI Examination Certificates, Computer Certificate, Professional Certificates
v. Applicants for the Driver Grade II position with a Class E or C license must ATTACH training certificates for Driving which qualified them to obtain the respective license classes
vi. Testimonials, “Provisional Results”, “Statements of Results”, Form Four and Six results slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
vii. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their Certificates have been verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA and NACTE)
viii. Applicants who are already employed in intern positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to the instructions contained in Circular Letter No. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010
ix. Applicants whose names differ in their documents must submit a Sworn Affidavit for Change of Name (Deed Poll) registered by the Ministry of Lands
x. Submission of false information and qualifications will lead to legal actions against the concerned individuals
xi. The deadline for submitting applications is 27/11/2025
