POST: ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER (ANO) / ENROLLED NURSE
Under the supervision of the Hospital Matron, the Assistant Nursing Officer (ANO) will provide healthcare and support to patients in the medical facility. The ANO is responsible for ensuring high standards of patient and family care are maintained at all times under the direction of the Matron or Senior Nursing/Midwifery Officer.
The successful candidate will maintain and motivate a professional and efficient staff, exercise leadership as part of the nursing/midwifery team, maintain a professional and friendly atmosphere, and create a dignified environment. The role requires ensuring that all necessary standards are maintained in compliance with Kitengule Hospital policy guidelines and according to the nursing/midwifery professional code of conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
i. High school graduate or equivalent
ii. Diploma or Certificate in Nursing and Midwifery
iii. Currently registered with TNMC
iv. Valid Nursing License
v. At least one (1) year working experience
vi. Knowledge of computer skills (comfortable using a computer)
MAIN DUTIES
i. Determining how best to help and care for patients
ii. Providing physical support for patients with daily activities
iii. Administering medication
iv. Obtaining information from physicians, caregivers and nurses
v. Recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse and temperature
vi. Observing and charting patients’ daily records
vii. Ensuring patients receive appropriate hospital services and care

POST: MEDICAL ATTENDANTS
MAIN OBJECTIVE
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Medical Attendant will assist patients with basic personal needs such as feeding, changing patient positions, providing bed baths, conducting sanitary rounds, and triaging.
QUALIFICATIONS
i. Form Four Certificate
ii. Assistant Nursing Certificate
iii. At least one (1) year working experience
iv. Knowledge of computer skills is an added advantage
OTHER MAIN DUTIES
i. Orienting and counselling clients
ii. Triaging
iii. Assisting disabled patients
iv. Dusting
v. Bed making
vi. Assisting nurses in cannulation, dressing, injections and vaccination
vii. Performing any other duties as may be assigned
