IMPORTANT POINTS FROM THE NEW VOLUNTEERING GUIDELINES

  1. Volunteering is for Tanzanian citizens only, aged between 18 and 35 years.

  2. Volunteer opportunities will be announced through notice boards, social media platforms, and websites.

  3. Applicants for volunteering will undergo an interview process to select those who meet the required criteria.

  4. Before being officially approved as a volunteer, the volunteer will be under supervision for sixty (60) days to assess whether they should continue volunteering or not.

  5. The duration of volunteering is a period not exceeding twelve (12) months and may be renewed for periods not exceeding two terms.

  6. Public institutions shall not be obligated to extend the volunteering period or employ a volunteer under permanent employment terms after the volunteering period comes to an end.

  7. After completing the volunteering period, a volunteer will be awarded a Certificate of Volunteering.

  8. The volunteering working time is eight (8) hours per day for five (5) days within a week.

  9. If a volunteer is absent without permission for more than five (5) days within one month, the volunteering engagement will be terminated.

  10. The allowance for a volunteer is Tsh 250,000 and half of the allowance of a regular employee.
