IMPORTANT THINGS FROM THE NEW VOLUNTEERING GUIDELINES
a. Volunteering by Tanzanian Citizens: Age ranging from 18 to 35.
b. Volunteer Opportunities: Will be announced through notice boards, social media, and websites.
c. Volunteer Applicants: Will undergo interviews to select those who meet the required criteria.
d. Supervision: Before being officially approved as a volunteer, the volunteer will be under supervision for sixty (60) days and will be assessed on whether they should continue volunteering or otherwise.
e. Duration of Volunteering: It is a period not exceeding twelve (12) months and may be renewed for up to two additional periods.
f. Public Institutions: Will not be obliged to extend the volunteering period or to employ a volunteer youth under permanent employment conditions after the volunteering period comes to an end.
g. Volunteer Certificate: After volunteering, you will be issued with a volunteer certificate.
h. Working Hours: Volunteering time is eight (8) hours per day for five (5) days per week.
i. Absenteeism: If you are absent for more than five (5) days within one month, the volunteering will be terminated.
j. Allowance: The allowance for a volunteering youth is TSh 250,000 and half of the allowance of a regular employee.
