ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Shinyanga Region Cooperative Union (SHIRECU (1984) LTD) is a registered Cooperative Union operating under Registration No. AFF-SHY-SHY-MC-2022-9 in accordance with the Cooperative Societies Act No. 6 of 2013 and its Regulations of 2015. The Union operates within Shinyanga Region, covering Shinyanga Municipal, Shinyanga Rural, and Kishapu Districts.
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION CRAFTSMEN (LOCAL FUNDI)
The Shinyanga Region Cooperative Union (SHIRECU (1984) LTD), during the 2025/2026 Financial Year, plans to implement several development projects, including the renovation of Buluba Secondary School located in Shinyanga Municipal.
With the approval of the Union Board, the Board Chairperson hereby invites qualified local construction craftsmen (Fundis) to submit competitive price quotations for the following construction-related works:

B. QUOTATION REQUIREMENTS
- A single craftsman is allowed to apply for more than one category of work, provided they demonstrate proven capability.
- The bidding process will be conducted through Competitive Price Quotations, in accordance with the Procurement and Supply Guidelines for Cooperative Unions in Mainland Tanzania and applicable Public Procurement Laws and Regulations.
- Interested applicants are required to collect and complete instruction books and schedules of labour costs available at the Procurement Department, SHIRECU (1984) LTD Headquarters.
- Completed quotation documents must be carefully sealed in an envelope and wax-sealed (lakiri).
- Each envelope must contain:
- A completed quotation document
- An application letter for the specific work applied for
- Relevant professional and supporting documents
- On top of the envelope, applicants must clearly indicate:
- Name of the type of work applied for
- Relevant quotation number
- NOTE: The applicant’s name MUST NOT be written on the envelope.
- The submission period is seven (7) days, starting from 6 January 2026 and ending on 12 January 2026 at 10:00 AM sharp, which is the official deadline for receiving quotations.
- Late submissions will not be accepted or evaluated, regardless of the reason for delay.
C. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANTS
All applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
i. Possession of a vocational certificate from a government-recognized vocational training institution
ii. Willingness and ability to adhere strictly to contractual obligations
iii. Ability to read and interpret building drawings and plans
iv. Proven experience and physical capability to perform construction-related works
v. Ownership of adequate and appropriate working tools
vi. Possession of a bank account for payment purposes
vii. Must be a citizen of the United Republic of Tanzania
viii. Must possess a valid NIDA Identification Card
D. SUBMISSION DETAILS
All applications must be prepared in accordance with the above instructions and submitted sealed with wax (lakiri) to the Union Office.
