CALL FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS
APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR A SCHOLARSHIP TO STUDY MSc IN IMMUNOLOGY AND INFLAMMATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF COPENHAGEN (UCPH), DENMARK
FUNDED THROUGH THE DANIDA KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION PROGRAMME
Academic Year: 2026 – 2028
KCMC University is pleased to announce a call for eligible and highly motivated students to apply for a DANIDA-supported scholarship to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Immunology and Inflammation at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH), Denmark. This opportunity is offered under the University Partnership for Immunology and Vaccinology Capacity in Africa (UPIVAC Africa) Project.

SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE
The two (2) year scholarship is fully funded and will cover essential costs for the duration of the MSc programme at the University of Copenhagen. The scholarship includes:
• International return air ticket between the home country and Denmark
• Health and travel insurance for the entire study period
• Monthly living stipend to cover accommodation and basic living expenses
The scholarship will be awarded to three (3) outstanding applicants selected through a competitive process.
ABOUT THE UPIVAC PROJECT
The UPIVAC Project aims to strengthen immunology and vaccinology capacity in Africa through joint education, research, and innovation initiatives from 2026 to 2032. Each year, the partnership will support six (6) to eight (8) African MSc students to enroll in the MSc in Immunology and Inflammation at UCPH, including a newly introduced Vaccinology module.

Students will undertake extensive research-based dissertation work within established research groups, gaining strong hands-on laboratory and analytical experience.

ELIGIBLE ACADEMIC BACKGROUNDS
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in relevant biological or medical sciences, including but not limited to:
• Medicine
• Veterinary Medicine
• Microbiology
• Biology or Zoology
• Biochemistry
• Molecular Biology
• Biotechnology
• Health Laboratory Sciences
A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required.

All application documents must be combined into ONE single PDF file and must include the following:
- Letter of motivation (maximum 1 page)
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) (maximum 2 pages)
- Certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts (from Ordinary Level to Bachelor’s degree)
- Three (3) letters of recommendation from individuals who can provide credible and relevant academic or professional references. For employed applicants, at least one recommendation must be from the employer, indicating institutional support for the applicant’s career development.
