CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: GENERAL MEDICINE STUDIES (BELARUS GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS) – ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the United Republic of Tanzania is pleased to inform the public that the Government of the Republic of Belarus has opened applications for state-funded scholarships at public universities and colleges for the 2026/2027 academic year. Qualified Tanzanian citizens are invited to apply for this prestigious opportunity to pursue studies in General Medicine at accredited Belarusian public institutions.

Field of Study
General Medicine (offered at accredited Belarusian public universities and colleges).

Application Requirements
Applicants must:
i. Fulfill admission requirements of both the Tanzanian education system and the respective Belarusian institution;
ii. Hold CSEE and ACSEE results with Division I, or be a First-Class Diploma holder. Final eligibility will be determined by the admitting university; and
iii. Demonstrate language proficiency. Most programmes are taught in Russian or Belarusian. Applicants without sufficient proficiency may be required to undertake a preparatory language course, usually at their own expense. -
Scholarship Coverage
The Belarusian Government scholarship provides:
i. Full tuition fees funded by the state budget;
ii. A monthly stipend, with possible academic performance-based supplements; and
iii. Accommodation in a student dormitory for the duration of studies. -
Expenses Not Covered by the Scholarship
The following costs shall be borne by the student or other sources:
i. International flight tickets;
ii. Meals;
iii. Health insurance; and
iv. Visa fees and migration registration.
Important Note: The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania does not provide supplementary financial support for this programme. Applicants are advised to secure independent funding for all costs not covered by the Belarusian Government scholarship.

List of Documents to Be Submitted
Applications must include the following documents (with notarized translations into Russian or Belarusian where required):
i. Application letter (free-form, clearly stating reasons for choosing General Medicine);
ii. Certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts, or a current student status letter with marks;
iii. Copy of a valid passport or National Identification Card;
iv. Proof of Russian or Belarusian language proficiency (if available);
v. Medical fitness certificate and an official HIV-negative certificate; and
vi. Character or reference letter from the current institution (for students). -
Application Process and Submission
i. Applications must be submitted to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Nairobi, which is accredited to the United Republic of Tanzania, via email: [email protected]
ii. Applicants should not apply through online portals;
iii. A copy of the complete application must also be sent to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology through the following email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected]; and
iv. The deadline for submission of applications is 20 February 2026.

- Stage Two: University Selection
i. Universities will notify shortlisted candidates for interviews by 20 May 2026;
ii. Interviews, including language assessments, will be conducted by 15 June 2026 and may be held online; and
iii. Successful candidates will receive official admission invitations for visa processing.
