Kilombero Sugar Company Limited is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions:

1. POSITION: MAINTENANCE FOREMAN - FRONT END (1 Position)
Location: Morogoro - Kilombero, Tanzania
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Experience Level: Experienced

Job Purpose:
Plan and supervise the daily work and performance of each employee on assigned shift, organize schedules, and assign work activity to achieve team and company objectives safely.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Achieve shift, daily, weekly, monthly and off-crop shutdown targets ensuring tasks are prioritized and planned in a logical, systematic and cost-effective way to optimize profitability
• Develop budget for discipline with Maintenance Engineer, finance business partner, optimization/CoE and manage costs effectively
• Monitor performance and support and advise teams in solving problems and/or taking corrective action
• Monitor standards for setting, operating and maintaining equipment and ensure instructions are adhered to
• Manage iAMP policy adherence to practices amongst maintenance teams
• Manage work quality to reduce rework and increase plant reliability
• Ensure equipment maintenance and reliability for respective area and ensure maintenance plans are aligned to achieve this
• Identify areas where equipment performance and quality management can be improved and manage implementation of improvement systems
• Leverage available support from Factory Optimization, the Illovo group (HO and other countries)
• Ensure continuous improvement by implementing functional best practices and conducting physical inspections
• Identify L&D needs within the team and manage training through business partnership
• Work with Optimization and Production team to solve problems and promote cross functional engagement
• Ensure Plant, Equipment and BOM information and WO's are captured accurately within SAP system
• Provide teams with necessary tools and equipment to perform work effectively
• Ensure technical and maintenance reporting (From EAM) is compliant with company policy
• Manage and maintain key engineering activities guided by Group technical risk guidelines
• Provide input into best practices, frameworks and minimum standards within function
• Identify and monitor KPIs to track performance and flag issues
• Promote and adhere to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) guidelines

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance, preferably sugar or mining machines
• Extensive experience using planned maintenance systems, especially SAP
• Ability to work methodically and systematically in a Sugar Mill environment
• Ability to multitask

2. POSITION: BOILER ATTENDANT (1 Position)
Location: Morogoro - Kilombero, Tanzania
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Experience Level: Entry Level

Job Purpose:
Monitor all boilers and turbine, bagasse handling, and conveyors to ensure all equipment and machines are running in optimal condition and execute involved level of maintenance work on assemblies/sub-assemblies in the mechanical system of boilers and powerhouse equipment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor boiler equipment, conveyors and all associated equipment
• Communicate with Control Room Operator or Foreman on plant status and engage on options/solutions for faults and failures
• Implement solutions and monitor outcomes, providing feedback on plant status
• Report abnormalities to allow preventive maintenance and avoid unnecessary downtime
• Perform tasks according to Safety, Quality, Health and Environment policies
• Maintain housekeeping at all times during shift
• Carry out root cause analysis of simple non-conformances and propose actions
• Ensure pressure readings are readable from respective pressure gauges
• Report any pipe or tube leaks to Foreman immediately
• Attend bagasse feeder to maintain steam pressure
• Diagnose causes of problems/breakdowns using problem-solving tools
• Make regular inspections of ash hoppers, nodding ducts, and ash sluicing systems
• Assess combustion condition and bagasse level on furnace bed
• Ensure grate chain drive is running well by frequent checks
• Ensure availability of enough bagasse by inspecting bagasse house
• Maintain high steam pressure whenever mill stops
• Monitor tractors and front loader movements during shift
• Ensure fire hydrants and fire hose boxes are accessible
• Ensure condensate level is high
• Record production data on appropriate log sheets and logbooks
• Conduct visual inspections to detect operating deviations
• Execute maintenance activities on mechanical systems of Boilers and Powerhouse equipment
• Monitor and communicate cleaning activities

Minimum Requirements:

• Certificate/Diploma in Mechanics or equivalent from recognized Institution
• Certificate in Fitter Mechanics will be an added advantage
• At least 3 years working in Sugar Industry specifically boiler operation

3. POSITION: FARM SUPERVISOR (1 Position)
Location: Morogoro - Kilombero, Tanzania

Experience Level: Experienced

Job Purpose:
Supervise and monitor farm activities, assist management in development of farm plans ensuring long-term growth, development and sustainability. Assess risks, drive continuous improvement, train and mentor team members and manage performance against minimum standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise all farming activities, timing and quality standards related to cane production
• Execute and supervise farm resource and activity plans
• Supervise farm activities and implement continuous improvement measures
• Monitor correct use of materials and other farm inputs
• Carry out inspections and activity assessments and submit reports
• Maintain discipline within team and report identified risks
• Keep daily record of farm activity data for capturing into cane Pro
• Assist management in monitoring labor requirement
• Implement continuous improvement practices
• Develop skills within team through on-the-job coaching and mentoring
• Conduct on-the-job training and instruction on various farm activities
• Monitor execution of farm activities by service providers

Minimum Requirements:

• Certificate in Agriculture
• 3+ years' experience in sugar cane agriculture
• Experience with leading teams and resource allocation
• Computer literate with excellent command of MS Office
• Good leadership and communication skills

4. POSITION: IRRIGATION TEAM LEAD (1 Position)
Location: Morogoro - Kilombero, Tanzania

Experience Level: Mid Level

Job Purpose:
Control and coordinate the quality of irrigation operations and assist management in development of irrigation plans to ensure long-term growth, development and sustainability.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise irrigation activities through inspection of irrigation lines/furrows
• Control work performance by recording daily attendance, irrigation cycles, scheduling and pressure monitoring
• Ensure work standards are adhered to by allocating tasks and recording man-days
• Safeguard crop by reporting unusual occurrences (fire, floods, smut, weeds, pests, theft)
• Manage team performance and conduct
• Ensure irrigation lines placed in correct locations through physical inspection
• Ensure complete number of irrigation equipment through field inventory
• Ensure irrigation lines shifted as per set standards
• Ensure good system arrangement for overlap uniformity
• Conduct on-the-job training and instruction on farm activities
• Responsible for irrigation equipment inventory and reporting
• Promote and adhere to SHERQ, Competition Law and ABC guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

• Certificate in Agriculture or related field
• 2-3 years in Sugarcane agriculture
• Experience with leading teams and resource allocation
• Good leadership and communication skills

5. POSITION: POWERHOUSE TECHNICIAN (1 Position)
Location: Tanzania
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Experience Level: Mid Level

Job Purpose:
Carry out maintenance on turbine equipment (back pressure & condensing TA), pumps, Diesel, Generator and factory utilities i.e. Compressed air, Fire system and water reticulation equipment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver agreed equipment calibration plan
• Carry out agreed monitoring, sampling and analysis routines
• Ensure TA together with factory utilities availability at maximum
• Maintain close relationship with operation team for timely troubleshooting
• Communicate with maintenance partners for maximum plant availability
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance as per SOP
• Adhere to maintenance best practices as per Illovo IAMP practices
• Proper control of maintenance tools
• Adhere to safety standards

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance of high-speed machines
• Experience in sugar factory, water reticulation, fire system and compressed air will be an added advantage

6. POSITION: POWERHOUSE TURBINE OPERATOR (1 Position)
Location: Morogoro - Kilombero, Tanzania
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Experience Level: Student (High School)

Job Purpose:
Run Turbines correctly and safely in order to achieve KPA's.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain housekeeping at all times during shift
• Operation monitoring - check gauges, dials and indicators
• Operation and control of equipment or systems
• Troubleshooting - determine causes of operating errors
• Complex problem solving - identify and evaluate solutions
• Repairing machines or systems using needed tools
• Equipment selection - determine tools and equipment needed
• Systems analysis - determine system operations and environmental effects
• Equipment maintenance - perform routine maintenance
• Reading comprehension of work-related documents

Job Requirements:

• Form IV with vocational training in Fitter Mechanics or Electrical from recognized institution
• Proven experience working with turbines in manufacturing industries is added advantage
• Basic computer skills, particularly in data entry
• 2+ years' experience working in sugar industries
• Good communication skills

7. POSITION: ARTISAN ELECTRICAL (1 Position)
Location: Kilombero, Morogoro, Tanzania
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Experience Level: Mid Level

Job Purpose:
Maintain, service and repair electrical equipment like air conditioner, fridge and solve electrical issues to all company buildings as per agreed set standards.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure operations carried out as per ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System
• Repair electrical breakdowns including major breakdowns
• Maintain clean working environment with proper housekeeping
• Carry out domestic electrical maintenance and repairs
• Control requisitions for spares and discuss with Electrical Foreman
• Cooperate with management on Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Abide by safety requirements and standards
• Perform all tasks with awareness towards pollution prevention

Job Qualification and Experience:

• Diploma of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from recognized Institution
• 2+ years' experience working in electrical activities
• Knowledge on Fault tracing and troubleshooting
• Extensive knowledge in Electrical System fault tracing, troubleshooting, safety and lock out procedures
