ANNOUNCEMENT OF JOB VACANCIES
The Executive Director of Itilima District Council announces to qualified Tanzanians to apply for eighteen (18) job vacancies in this Council after obtaining permission from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, with the following breakdown:
1.0 DRIVER II - 5 POSITIONS
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to determine the vehicle's safety condition;
ii. Transporting staff to various areas on work trips;
iii. Performing minor vehicle repairs;
iv. Collecting and distributing various documents;
v. Filling and maintaining records of all trips in the logbook;
vi. Cleaning the vehicle; and
vii. Performing other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
1.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
To be employed with a Form Four certificate and a Class E or C Driving License for vehicles they have driven for a period of not less than one (1) year without causing accidents, along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the relevant classes. Must have attended Basic Driving Course offered by VETA College or any other college recognized by the Government.
1.1.2 SALARY SCALE: TGS B
2.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II - 4 POSITIONS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Listing incoming letters in the registry (incoming correspondence register);
ii. Listing outgoing letters from the institution (outgoing correspondence register);
iii. Distributing and receiving files from action officers;
iv. Returning files to racks or filing cabinets or other storage areas;
v. Tracking file movement within the Institution (file tracking);
vi. Analyzing, listing and arranging records or documents into groups according to the relevant subject (Classification and Boxing) for office use;
vii. Placing or arranging records or documents in file racks or cabinets in the registry or records storage rooms;
viii. Placing records (letters, documents etc.) in files;
ix. Performing any other duties assigned by their Work Supervisor.
2.1 QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
Must have completed Form Four or Form Six education, and hold a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in the field of Records Management from a college recognized by the Government.
2.2 SALARY SCALE: TGS C
3.0 OFFICE SECRETARY GRADE II - 9 POSITIONS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Typing routine and confidential letters, reports and documents;
ii. Receiving visitors, presenting their issues and directing them to where they can be assisted;
iii. Keeping records of events, appointments, meeting dates, their Superior's travels and other work schedules;
iv. Retrieving files and documents required for implementing work responsibilities;
v. Receiving files and distributing them to Officers in the relevant Department or Unit or Section;
vi. Collecting, keeping and returning files and documents to relevant sections;
vii. Arranging abstracts and preparing for various meetings;
viii. Preparing lists of office supply requirements; and
ix. Performing other duties as assigned by their Work Supervisor.
3.1 QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
To employ graduates of Form Four or Form Six holding a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 certificate in Secretarial Studies. Additionally, they must have passed Kiswahili and English Typewriting at 100 words per minute and obtained computer office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail and Publisher from any college recognized by the Government.
3.2 SALARY SCALE: TGS C
1.3 GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens and aged between 18 years and not exceeding 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify their disability in the Employment Application System for information purposes for the Public Service Employment Secretariat.
iii. All applicants should attach detailed Curriculum Vitae containing a valid address, available phone numbers and Email address together with names of three reliable Referees.
iv. Applicants who are already Public Servants and have obtained qualifications to enter different cadres from their current ones are not allowed to apply for these positions.
v. For applicants who studied at colleges outside the country, submit verification from the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).
vi. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of Educational and Professional certificates certified by a Lawyer or Advocate, which are Form Four or Form Six certificates for those who reached that level, and certificates for completing various trainings considering the qualifications for the respective job. Postgraduate, Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or Certificates, Form IV and VI examination certificates.
vii. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of Results, Form IV and Form VI results slips will not be accepted.
viii. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates have been reviewed and verified by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA and NACTE).
ix. Applicants retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
x. Job applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to directives in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November, 2010.
xi. Submission of false information and qualifications, the concerned persons will face legal action.
xii. The deadline for submitting job applications is 27 March, 2026.
